Turn off the chat permanently in low ELO

Seriously. Every game I play (I'm currently silver 1) there's always this one guy who flames because they think they're above us all. Either because they didn't get the role they wanted, or because someone made one tiny mistakes. We're not all perfect gods like you Mr. Midlane.

Other games there's this one guy who's doing really really bad, either because he had a bad game or because he's just straight out bad. There's a lot of people with different skills in this community. When this guy does bad he gets flamed, I mean flamed to oblivion. The chat is constantly being spammed by one or two guys complaining instead of helping him out. As a result, 90% of the time this person goes afk because he can't come back due to the lack of help, he's being constantly trashtalked and refuses to put up with that behaviour, or because he doesn't even care anymore since people are constantly nagging at him.

Every time this happens, I try to be the positive guy. I try to tell people to be quiet, to be nice or to give the guy some tips. Usually I just tell the targeted played to not listen to them, try to give him some extra creds when he does something good. However, one guy trying isn't enough.

And yes, I know that the mute option does exist. But come on, how many times does people actually use it when they should. No, they take it personally and instead of ignoring it they get negative.

I seriously want you turn off the chat for lower ELO's. Or implement some sort of voting option where you can actually vote for a person to be permanently muted until the team votes to turn the mute off. I wish for a world, where low ELO can be peacefull.

What an incredibly selfish demand. You want to deny EVERYONE the right to express themselves because YOU don't want to use the mute button.

You also claim the mute button doesn't work because OTHER PEOPLE don't use it. The mute button is not for other people. It is for YOU. If people's negativity affects you, YOU mute them. It is none of your business whether I mute them or not.

  Finally, with respect to your final suggestion (vote for people to be permanently muted), this system already exists, it is the mute button. If everyone mutes the offending person, then no one hears him. This will be the case until someone chooses to unmute him. What you are asking for is already in place, with the exception that Riot doesn't allow YOU to decide for ME what I am allowed to read.
