Players going AFK ruins the change to climb in ranked

Last month I changed from EUNE to EUW. Therefore I had to start my Ranked all over. No problem I was low bronze this season so that didn't matter. But now I'm getting tired. The last 4 games I played a player went AFK early or halfway the game. Other plyers keep playing as if its an unranked of AI game. Furthermore I see players "testing" new champs in ranked, openly saying this is the first time they play this champ. I wish RIOT could build in a mechanism that only champs could be used that have been played a certain amount of times with good result in ranked.

I have had 2 messages from RIOT about players being banned for their behaviour, but that still doesn't give me my points back.

surprisingly, ranting about it on the boards doesn't do that either. and looking at your match history, i'd say the problem with losing lp is as much your fault as it is theirs

i've been there two seasons ago.

I had a friend who wanted to be in silver so she can escape all the bullying coming from people who looked at ranked as if it was part of her personality and i wanted to see what all the hubbub about bronze 5 was about.

It took me two weeks to get her to silver 5. 36 games. 32 wins. Sona support in 90% of them. Don't talk to me about "bronze"! if you don't deserve to be in there, you won't be. :)

As for what i might lose other than pride: time. Beating you in a 1v1 provides neither joy nor a sense of accomplishment to me. It's just meaningless. A complete and utter waste of time...

He's only replied once since you mentioned that (and I'm not sure why you did); and all he said was that he doesn't care what you think of his league skill. That is not an insult nor is it related to autism, and the fact that you insinuate it is is pretty sad.

Why should he have to 1v1 you? League isn't a 1v1 game. You're basically saying that somehow he consistently gets better team mates in every game than you do. That's statistically very unlikely.

I'm pretty irritated by it at this point. All I said was that I could roll his ass in the game. I never asked for a 1v1, he took it that way.

Between my personal life, my kid, my medication causing me to pass out in the middle of sentences, and a variety of other factors... A pro career isn't something I'm looking for..

I play this game for fun.. not as a pro career simulator.

My group didn't do ranked, so I played in between games when they weren't around.

I get sick of these players that think they are big shit because they got a little bit of rank.

Comments such as he has made to me like "If you are so smart, why has it taken you years to get out of bronze" are bullshit.

This game has no bearing on my ability to think, learn, or apply that to a situation.

I'm just as good as half of them. I don't give a shit what your rank is, I'll give you a run for your money or go down swinging.

It's ok though, like I said. I'm autistic.. but I'm not stupid, I'm used to people trying to take advantage of me or treating me like shit because of my disabilities.

I've said what I will on the subject.. He can either roll up on the rift and prove "how godlike and superior he is" or he can move on and leave me the fuck alone. I don't care which.. but I'm done communicating with him outside of it.

Wether you are diamond losing against another diamond or a bronze losing against a diamond, going down swinging is what riot expects of you. But it doesn't make you as good as the one you go down swinging to.

you probably haven't noticed it but i've never commented on it. you're the only one who keeps bringing it up as if it makes you automatially in the right on a topic just because you have it. Typically people who have a mental or physical issue don't use it as an excuse in a conversation about something unrelated. You should refrain from doing that...

I've always found it laughable that my personal MMR and rank is based off a team winning in a game where even 1 AFK can unbalance the match.

I hate to be that guy that is always saying "if I my team didn't suck" but I've got plenty of losses under my belt where there was nothing we could do because someone afk'd in the first 5 minutes..

I think in this case.. at the least the losing team shouldn't suffer any LP lose if not just out right making it a Loss Prevented and neither awarding or losing LP... I can see how they don't want to do this because people would get pissed..

But in all reality.. if you win a 5v4 in ranked.. you really don't deserve that lp, and the losing team doesn't deserve to lose any..

I can't count the number of times I've jumped from say Bronze 4 to Bronze 5, because the last game, the one that really mattered..was the one where someone went AFK.

I took out the part I considered rank shaming. You brought up various ranks and called them bad. The biggest problem with allowing this on the boards is that we'd only have Challengers and Pros as the end-all-be-all authorities on any talking points. But it also detracts from serious discussions.

I don't think it was rank shaming per se since I was actually curious how can someone call oneself smarter than the average joe but be in bronze for 4-5seasons(because opgg can only go so far back).

For refference, the 7mil points Heimer one trick I keep refferencing whenever I talk about the mastery system is in bronze because he doesn't play with hotkeys. Just point and click.

Also I didn't know calling bronze elo bad at the game was rude...

It's not the worst I've seen, but generally calling others' rank bad is at the least not-constructive. And it was the second time you'd made that reference to this player.

There's a lot of factors that go into how everyone's ranked, so making a blanket statement like "you're in bronze cuz you're bad" seems rude. That's not what you said, it was just an example.
