My entire team was feeding and being horrible. the other team was trash talking to me so i had to retaliate. they were calling me bad because i couldn't kill a fed zed. every one on my team kept trying to surrender but i wanted to make a comeback so 1 or 2 people left. i stayed and took my fair share of rude and mean comments towards me and i get out of the game and it tells me i have been banned for 14 days!! for a little bit of smack talk. hello its a competitive game... and when my team is horrible and they leave but i try my best and i get a ban. wtf kinda system in this.

"so i had to retaliate" - You did not have to do anything. You can easily type /mute @(champ name).

"i stayed and took my fair share of rude and mean comments towards me" because you failed to use the tools given to you (mute, ping mute) to prevent yourself from having to see those.

"a little bit of smack talk" - let's see your full chat logs provided in your reform card and we'll point out exactly where you went above and beyond "a little bit of smack talk".

@RiotTantram can you come and help explain to the OP why he was punished?

This is the type of guy that believes riot's system is perfect, but he'll be the first one screaming reported for int'ing when his jungler comes bot and dies while hes farming or the guy who spam pings when someone is taking "his farm". lol

Yeah, Riot's system, built for the casual players, who make up a majority of the playerbase, is fine.

I'll admit I think it's fine. It gets toxic players who think this game is like a life or death sports championship every single game out.

I've seen a majority of things and pinging and muting doesn't deal with all these, so you can't go around saying some bans are just for his telling a player he's bad if the guy is literally trolling him. The report system doesn't help the players who try to win because those are the ones who get angry from playing the game while they see a person trying to 1v5 or not using any logic or game knowledge at all while playing. All the player needs to say is "im lagging guys sorry" and run it down mid and the system it'll look more like he just had a bad game and wasn't intentionally feeding.

Flaming players doesn't deal with anything either, it just gets you banned.

Also, you're woefully incorrect about the intentional feeding. It's very accurate at punishing, and for borderline cases it flags them for manual review, where real humans look at the gameplay (not the chat) to determine.

You don't have to flame people to be competitive. Hell, competitive players on the LCS stage are fined and could have their careers ended for the kind of stuff that winds up on these boards.

It's just.. yknow.. thinking about what you type in the chat box. It's not hard.

You're trying to say that OP's chat log shouldn't be punished because it was just due to this being a competitive game.

That opinion, while valid, is woefully inaccurate and not in line with the opinion of over 90% of the other players of this game.

The system is based on reports - if a certain behavior is reported in a large percentage of occurrences, Riot (and the IFS) deem it to be unsatisfactory and punishable.

Didn't they use the Tribunal to help establish the parameters initially and then adjust it periodically?

That was years ago when the Tribunal was used... That was the parameters for the IFS that have now changed based on reports
