Unfair suspension

Is it fair for people to flame you and then when you fight back you get a suspension istead of them because of their reports? and they are didn't get anything And at some point i tried making peace but guess what they flamed me back, check out for yourself

You weren't suspended. You received a 10-game chat restriction.

Never got muted before, first time getting muted/banned i am not usually toxic

Just play off the 10-games, and take it as a warning. For a single light penalty, it's not all that hard to get your account back in good standing. The majority of players who get this type of penalty never receive another.

You recieve a notification when the people you report gets banned/muted it happened

Sometimes you are notified, but not every time. Lack of being notified does not automatically mean that punishment was not issued against that player.

Wrong. You only receive a notification of a number of things are true:

  1. The player was punished by IFS (i.e. not a manual punishment, but an automated one).
  2. The player was punished based on the game you reported them in (i.e. the game you reported them in was the one that put them over the edge to be punished)

Considering it's both possible that the player was manually punished, and/or that they are not routinely toxic and so your game was not the deciding game in issuing them a punishment, you cannot say that they are not being punished appropriately.

Remember that you get chances before punishment. You're allowed one or two bad games once in a while and nothing will happen to you. Others are afforded the same courtesy of not being punished for a bad game (barring egregious toxicity). Thus, they may not have been punished, you're right, but they may not deserve one at this time.

Doesn't matter. The system treats everyone equally. They get chances just like you do. If they said anything to warrant a ban, they would've gotten one.

Fighting back and retaliation are not the same as self defense.

If you feel the need to refute things said about you that is fine, but harassing others or mocking them for being bad is not okay under any circumstance. It doesn't matter if they harassed you first.

If you cannot control your temper enough to keep from 'fighting back' then maybe you should take a break from league and come back after you have had time to mature enough to accept that other people are stupid sometimes and it's not worth getting upset about.

That sucks dude, but you still chose to take revenge instead of muting the player.

I doubt you were permabanned for just this, so either you weren't perma'd and you have future games ahead of you to prove your worth, or you've suffered previous punishments and already wasted your chance.

I got a 10 game mute and i can send couple messages at certain time periods and i can't speak in all chat that is ok BUT THE THING THAT IS NOT OK is that my honor level dropped to 1 from 3 and i can't get my rewards anymore unless i get my honor level3 back which is unlikely I hate that

Did you completely ignore my prior post? You cannot know if they got a punishment or not. You do not always get a notification when they are punished.

The point of the new honor system is that if you behave honorably then your honor goes up, if you behave dishonorably and get punished then it goes away.

Taking revenge is dishonorable and toxic, hence the punishment and loss of honor.

You can earn your honor back, it simply takes time. Next time consider your actions more carefully before taking revenge on someone for being an asshole to you. It's almost always better to mute them and report after the game instead.

That goes beyond self-defense and becomes retaliation.

Just because you were wronged first does not make it ok to be shitty to the wrongdoer.

Also, let me make it abundantly clear to you: **lobbying for reports is not only against the rules, it's a wasre of time. 1=9. It only takes 1 report to flag a game for review and extra ones don't add any weight. **

Its fair that all involved parties get punishment. However not everyone will get equal punishment. Everyone is punished based on their behavior history.

I find that very hard to believe based upon what I'm seeing here.

Most people don't just decide one day they're going to be toxic. I have a feeling that many of your chat logs look quite similar to this one---sure maybe not as vicious, but I'm guessing you're generally not all that pleasant to play with.

Except they're not really speculations at all, they're pretty fair criticisms given that the chat log was rather overtly toxic. It's like the adage of 'few people get caught their first time shoplifting'.

Someone doesn't act normally and then just (for one game) goes off on a tangent only to return to being a completely respectable member of the League community.

Sorry, I stand by it... someone that acts like that isn't pleasant to play with and needs to just learn some self control.

You're right. Most people don't decide to be toxic. They have a crappy day that is then made worse by something and before you know it they are being toxic and ruining others' experiences.

Learning self control is important, and suggesting that the OP does so would have been constructive (provided that you did it in a polite manner)... but you didn't make suggestions or offer advice for how to practice self control.

You never said anything about that in your initial speculation. All you did was write them off as a toxic player who is unpleasant to play with and that was the end of it. Thus, that comment was unnecessary and not constructive.

So I stand by my original statement too.

Who are we to say that someone should have to learn self control, versus another person needing to learn to be less sensitive and stop allowing themselves to be hurt/affected by mere words from an anonymous angry person/troll on the internet, though?

The internet is a dangerous place...always has been, always will be, and it's futile for Riot to pretend otherwise in my honest opinion...they are flogging a dead horse trying to eradicate trolls/toxicity from an online competitive game- it's just never going to happen...especially when these people can go make another account so easily.

We love to tell these 'toxic' players that "life isn't fair," and to "just mute them," but that goes both ways. I can promise you that nobody in the real world is going to get thrown in prison for 'flaming' somebody...save some VERY extreme cases lol...this kind of punishment system is sending the wrong message to people. (again, in my opinion)

First of all, we have to completely disregard the fact that you would have to be INCREDIBLY disruptive in order for that to happen...but let's pretend, for the convenience of your argument, that it's easy...

You won't get kicked out of a bar for telling the person yelling to shut the fuck up. Also, poor analogy because you can't get kicked out of a GAME on League just for being toxic/trolling. If this was the case, a LOT less people WOULD be toxic, bc you could just kick the troll.

You won't get thrown out of a restaurant for confronting the antagonizer in your example, and telling them they are acting like a fucking douche bag and telling them to stfu. Also, poor analogy for the same reason I explained above. You should watch that video someone posted yesterday, about WHY League is such a Toxic community- Helplessness...but I digress.

It's INCREDIBLY difficult to get banned from Walmart. Pretty much the only way it's going to happen is if you actually STEAL from them...and even then, it's not a PERMANENT ban first of all, and it's only from that one store/INCREDIBLY difficult for them to enforce (kinda like Riot being unable to stop the people they ban from making new accounts)

You can get banned from LoL if you tell the person flaming yourself OR your teammates to stfu, and/or just generally shit on them...and on that note, idc what any of you say, it IS possible to make trolls stfu and stop just by talking shit to them and making them realize what a piece of shit they are. I've seen it done countless times. Sure, it's some sort of twisted vigilante 'justice' lol, but it works and you can't argue that. (Not saying it works ALL the time, but if it's bothering other players they can simply mute very easily)

All I'm saying is that they are fighting a futile battle. It's literally impossible to end trolling lol...I literally compare this to the war on Terror. You can't fight a war against terror and ever actually 'win.' All Riot is doing is sending in drone-strikes, and creating 'home-grown' trolls, because more often than not, the people who get banned end up going on some sort of 'crusade' out of spite, and make it their mission to show Riot what toxic ACTUALLY is. (It's not talking shit to trolls, hate to break it to ya) Similar to the US helping ISIS/etc recruit with our carelessness/mass killings of civilians with OUR drone strikes.

im sorta in the same situation, lv5 honored, never got suspension/ban ever in my 3 years of this game, this is my frist punishment ever, in a flex ranked game 3 players started to turn on me for no reason that i can understand, out of nowhere ezreal (OutSideLimits) starts to flame me in chat, caps and everything, at frist i ignore him like i always do in these cases, no point in giving attention to anopropriate behaviour right? , but then the guy starts to pull attention from the team to flame me "garen wants to lose" and such on and on, even though im pushing, roaming, helping, wining team fights, pinging for awereness, easy game easy life, whent 8-2-11 garen, at the end i was having fun laughing at what the guy was saying, so i joked "kys" after he said 3 funny lines, in an attempt to lighten up the mood (KYS - Stands for "Kill your self" a sarcastic term used amongst friends basically telling one another to shut the f**k up, when someone says something ignorant), in the end ppl were saying dumb stuff in chat, so i got into the fun cuz why not and said "idiots", for this i got reported and banned for 14days with reward restrictions, this so unfair more than 100euros invested in this acct more than a 1000 ranked games played, i play by the book all the time, i report any bad behaviour i see unfair to me and others, i filed a ticket to review my punishment, but i know nothing is going to happen.... do you guys think its fair? not even a warning? 1st time offence, even if its not justified? so disapointed in riot right now.... not one more cent
