So my smurf was permabanned when i said kys in the chatlog midgame, but i duo with my friend and he says kys when hes gettin beat (which is very often) and he doesnt get any punishment. my question here is why was i permabanned and he faces no consequence when we both say kys

That's not true and you know it. Whenever someone says kys they are using that as the acronym for "kill yourself", so trying to pass both off as two different things is just a very poor excuse to try to justify saying it. Now I can't speak for why your friend didn't get punished for saying it other than the fact that he may not have been reported for it as often as you are, but regardless you should take this as a learning experience that wishing death on someone is no laughing matter and will result in an account ban if caught saying it.

Regardless of whether they do actually kill themselves or not it's still unacceptable to say to someone regardless of the circumstances, and there are far better ways of expressing frustration with someone than telling them to kill themselves. If you get so frustrated with someone that you tell them to kill themselves then the problem lies with you and not them behavior wise.

You do have a point there I will admit. While I don't agree with calling people bad when they're playing poorly (as chances are they already know they are), I do agree with your point that people shouldn't assume that people giving them advice are trying to harass them. Basically it's a two-way street, and I think that is something that we can agree on.

He doesn't get reported as much, the time you got reported they happened to have staff available to review it, maybe they had a backlog on the day your friend got reported, maybe they're gathering more evidence to give him a straight permaban. Who knows.
Silent Gravity1 votesThe IFS reviews games when they're reported. It's very fast, so the furthest behind it gets is about 15 minutes from report to punishment, if it decides to punish.

Silent Gravity2 votesOne thing that does impact being punished or not is the frequency of toxicity. A person's main account has been around for years, played thousands of games, a few bad games isn't going to kill the account.
A smurf account rushes up to level 30, then starts being toxic right away. That's going to earn punishment more reliably.
This is just a theory, but it could explain some of the differences in your account status. That said, I'd really suggest that you refrain from typing kys in any of your future games.

Silent Gravity2 votesA more common conspiracy theory is that Riot punishes those that purchase things more severely so that they are forced to get a new account and purchase more. It's a stupid conspiracy theory either way, as the IFS handles all the reports anyway.
