Chat Restriction system not very well thought out

What happened to just suspending people. I am so confused why it's a good idea to hinder communication when people can just MUTE other people who are toxic. Getting chat restricted for profane language when there is a FILTER for it, doesn't make sense. I would rather have 10 day suspension than a 10 game chat restriction where, honestly my team is at a slight disadvantage because of it. I feel like it essentially punishes your team when you have someone with a chat restriction on it, it just assumes everything you type is negative? Huge turn off.

Chat restrictions are used because the idea is that you'll be forced to use the chat only for constructive purposes if you intend on using it to help you win. If you use it to insult others during a chat restriction you'll be unable to use it to help you win.

It's counting on your desire to win your games. If you're the type of person to sacrifice what little chat you have to insult people the next step will be banning from the game (14-day).

you don’t get chat restrictions for using profane language, you get it for being toxic. It also doesn’t assume everything you type is negative, since it allows you to type every so often. All this can be avoided by not being toxic in the first place btw.

When I chat to win it's like on the fly messages (zed coming, come back) etc. so I can still maneuver not planning out my messages because I have a specific amount allotted.

And to add to my main point, why would a 3 day suspension not work? Suspend for 3 days, if they don't get the hint bump it to 14? I am not saying don't punish me, I am saying don't hinder communication in a team based game.

I don't remember the game but I assume the thresh was an enemy team thresh as I had a blitz as support. We were pushing bot and the swain died mid, raged, started pinging bot and talking shit (Not to mention he was being a douche from champ select up to that point, just not at me... yet). It's hard to see the context in these chat logs. If I did question blitz choice on ignite, it was probably because I requested exhaust, we probably lost the first fight, and he probably kept engaging.

Personally, I feel that chat restrictions are more or less the way to go if you want to rid toxicity from a game, not game bans. If you take away the medium through which they use to belittle others, then they won't be able to do so. It will also give them a chance to analyze their attitude, and how they display that to others.

Now I know for a fact people are going to bring up feeders and trolls, and let me just state this, very clearly. Trolls are going to happen, no matter what. A lot of the time, trolls are just people looking to have fun, more or less at the expense of someone else losing a game. Feeders could be classified the same way, except their initial intent is to lose the game, before the queue even starts. I've won plenty of games playing with trolls, but few to none with intentional feeders.

My point? Trolls, and feeders, will still be present in the game, no matter what we do. More than likely, those that do get their accounts permanently banned for toxicity, will never return, mostly due to the high amount of time, energy, and money they put into the game, that's all for naught.

My point is, that game 1 that is listed was bad form, I know that. I expected like a 3 day suspension, the whole "chat restriction" system punishes your team slightly, which is a stupid system. Punish the player individually, not give an enemy team a slight (doesn't matter how slight) advantage. The second game not only was from like 6-7 months ago, which I didn't even remember, but was told it was because I called blitz an asshole for being an asshole.
