i think riot should make the threat of reports more feared

ive been playing for a little two years now, and the amount of toxicity in the community is quite abundant in games, majority theres at least one player who is negative to an extent, this can be small to not agreeing with a play, this isn't a reason to report, but when they flat out abuse you for it is something to report. but the reporting has no leverage it doesnt make people stop and think for a second, like a police officer that has no power, you laugh it off and just keep doing what your doing. in a recent game during champ select i encounterd this

this was the champ select, we went into game i said i will report them and they were were sying "so what?" they dont care, i did report them after but getting ganged up on was not a nice way to start this is bronze, i dont what it's like in the higher ranks (i beleive it to be less toxic) but this is what makes elo hell, players aren't willing to help and give advice, they'd much rather verbally assualt people. riot should change the report system and punishment to be more severe at this kind of abuse, if they had just been calm i wouldve gone bot lane quite happily but.

Yes, Riot should change the report system. You shouldn't be able to get permabanned for flaming! I don't care how toxic someone is, as long as he isn't intentionally ruining games by trolling or scripting, he shouldn't be permabanned. People not only invest time, but also a lot of money on this game, and I don't think saying a bad word once in a while warrants a permaban. I have never been banned, warned, or chat restricted by the way. I just don't think permabans should be a thing. If you are easily distracted by flaming just /mute all. Easy.

did you know. There is a good chunck of the population don't know or believe the system works cos they don't ever see it working. It is a product of the system's visibility being low.

That being said, visibility features coming soon after the new client is up and running smoothly. Hopefully we get something like this.

pretty sure they dont want players threatening other players with reports. that just increases toxicity.

No, because the report system is not supposed to be a weapon you use to threaten other players!

I think they should. But my views on justice tend to feel a little bit old school, and I realize that people in excess of ten years my junior might just be operating on a different system.

Rather, it's healthier for us as two players to ignore each other than for me to insist on my judgement for what constitutes punishment.
