Banned for pointing out what someone said?

So i was playing a ranked game when my bot lane was losing and was blaming me when the support player told me to "kys" so i wrote in chat to everyone to report him for saying it but it automatically banned me ? So i am just asking does the system ban you for literally saying it no matter the circumstances like you just pointing it out or what? Are we supposed to go with the he said "the" word or i dont understand how it works like the voldemort treatment? Repeating extreme toxicity (such as hate speech or encouragements to self harm) is generally treated the same as if you had said it yourself. There is absolutely no reason to repeat the toxicity, and if the other players had muted the thresh you acted as a voice for thresh to say the things they were saying - basically you became exactly the same problem he was to begin with.

So if this problem arises again. The problem of someone being toxic and if i want to somehow ask the enemy team to help us by reporting him i should just say that he was extremely toxic instead of actually repeating what he said ? Is that what i should do next time ?

You do not need to say anything, and you do not need help reporting. Your report is enough and will cause the game to be reviewed - more reports do not do anything.

NO, you shouldn't ask people to help you report someone anyways.

  1. You don't have to 9x report someone who deserves to be punished. It only takes one report to flag the game for review, any extra reports on top of that do nothing, because the code only looks at # of reports when deciding whether or not to review the game, after that it judges the player based on the behavior in-game, not on how many people reported them. tldr; reports don't stack, it only takes one report to get the player reviewed.

  2. Additionally if you call attention to someone who is angry or trolling, you're only feeding the troll. That's how behavior works. If someone is upset at you and they want you to acknowledge their outrage, then the last thing you should do is say anything to call attention to them for saying things to you.

Don't ask people to report someone, your report is all it takes. And feeding the troll only makes them want to say even more shit to you.

Never ask for reports. Will get you banned again. Because it's useless. 1 report = 9 reports. No difference.

Asking for reports only gets you banned if you spam it repeatedly. A rioter came and cleared that up.

Asking for reports is griefing, and if you are on thin ice, i.e. you just came off a 2 week ban, it will get you banned.

I would submit a ticket about it.

For the future though, you don't need to repeat what your teammates say or ask for reports on them. 1 report = 9 reports because the report function works off of number of games reported, not raw number of reports.

i originally wanted to submit a ticket however i have a problem of whenever i want to send it. It says i have to be loged in even though i am and when i log in it says some kind of error and that i should try later. 20 minutes still nothing different

Thays a known glitch. Log out from here and the support website, clear the cookies and log back into the support site.

If that fails, try to use a different browser

Log out entirely of the website and try to log back in. It works for me when I get that bug.

Yeah, I learned the hard way that calling for reports in all chat is bannable. Don't even bother. Riot looks at it in this way - If you're calling for reports and telling people to report "X" you're being toxic. Do I agree with it? No. Do I think this is banworthy? No. But it's their game so gotta play by their rules. This coming from someone who was banned for the same thing.
