Is This Really "Extremely Inflammatory and Offensive"?

The Link shows it all - I just received a permanent ban for the above communication. I never quite understood how Riot conducts its punishment system. There are plenty of players who will say racial slurs or more offensive words and get away because they intentionally misspell the words and avoid the autochecker. Then there is me, who only said "pathetic" and received a permanent ban for "extremely offensive and inflammatory behavior." I can see that I've said some other things, but honestly, I personally feel that Riot hasn't actively drawn a clear line between what is worthy of a chat restriction and what is worthy of a PERMANENT BAN.

I find it frustrating that Riot acts like the school administrators who will punish both parties in a school fight without considering who was the aggressor or what happened. There is no need for context at all. What is worse is that I constantly run into toxic people who will tell me negative things like "stop missing your skillshot," as if I WANT TO miss them in the first place. I can take constructive criticism like "have you considered buying thornmail for the Fiora?" But telling me comments like play better or don't miss your skill shots is just downright offensive. I rarely receive any indication that Riot is actively pursuing these comments and punishing them, and the result is that I can't trust Riot's system.

I don't care about this account, and I know Riot won't undo the ban anyways. I do think that Riot should promote more transparency into the system so that we don't have to FACE unwarranted negativity in the first place. After all, if Riot can issue a permanent ban based on ONE GAME about 4 minutes after the game had ended, I think Riot could actively pursue chat restrictions against negative people more quickly, and notify people who were affected to improve their faith in the system.

Riot, I understand that you want to make the game PG; but if you really want to, you should make the system more interactive (providing you feedback on which player was banned for what you reported and when the ban occurred) so that the players can actually see that their reports are doing something. As it is, the only notifications we get are if OUR REPORTS are the ones to trigger the punishment, and that's rarely the case.

Also, it's so demeaning to be told that I should simply mute the offending player and move on. If someone on the street yells profanities at you or tells you to drive better, you can move away from that situation but it won't negate the event at all. For some people like me, those statements linger and ruin a good day.

You blamed and harassed him all game long and asked multiple times to the enemy team to report. You deserve a punishment.

About wether or not this should be a perma, have you been banned for 14 days recently? If you did, you should have restrained your behavior.

If you have a toxic behavior, you're faulty, it doesn't matter if you were the first offender or not. If you encounter a toxic player, the best thing to do IS to mute him and report him later, shut your ego down for a bit.

You’ve probably had bans before and this was your last warning or you’ve been consistently toxic in a lot of your games where you’ve gathered enough reports to flag the system.

The fact that you “don’t care about your account” is a clear giveaway that you probably don’t care what you say either.

Take the time to reform and come back if you wish to make league a better place.

Saying pathetic isn't banworthy.

Asking the enemy to report someone, however, is bullying.

You laugh at your team for the second thing you say as if belittling them. That's very negative.

Rather than talking about 'all someone knows' and belittling them like you ramble on. You could say, "Galio it would be awesome if you could fight with us, as a tank we need you on the front line." or something along the lines. You don't really need to criticize them, they already know what they are doing and if you aren't helping them to do better then better off saying nothing.

This is just one log, but in order to get permabanned you also need to to have gotten in trouble before. Some say that you won't get in trouble for being multi-reported but I can see that in your case it would be especially effective as most of what you have to say subtracts from the game.

Asking the enemy to report someone isn't bullying. Bullying someone is reacting with extreme prejudice to anything they do or say or playing the blame game, rather than helping your teammates.

You understand that they are doing something bad and yeah I get that it's stressful but belittling everyone is extremely negative. Yes it indeed is. "Could you please gank?" <-- not negative... "You never gank!" <--- negative. "I am not ganking for you, you suck." <--- mute that and remember to report later.

The only other issue I have is that the after game screen doesn't keep these people muted afterwards. Good people shouldn't have to avoid reading because eye cancer. But yeah, I am guessing you deserved it literally because of the way you belittle people in this one log.

They were not ban-worthy. Just punishment-worthy. Have you gotten a 14-day ban before?
