I was playing as support zyra and was doing poorly. The enemy adc said he was a diamond smurf in post game chat. My adc was 0/3 I was 1/7. The ezreal and diana was harassing me and calling me names and cursing at me because I was doing poorly and said they would report me for inting. I muted the ezreal. I told my team I was having a bad game and I was trying my best. I told the diana that trash talking me doesn't help. The diana refused to stop and I saw the diana had bad matches on her history and asked her if she was inting on games she performed poorly on. She then jumped into all of the enemy team because we refused to surrender and admitted to inting in chat. To which I responded report it inting (report diana for inting) our top laner also saw her inting and asked why she did what she did. I also told her people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Meaning since she also had bad games she should not verbally harass me when I was having a bad game too.

Here is what the riot support staff said to me:

"IronSights: I do have the full chat log on that game.

I can also tell you that trying to put their match history up as a defense, is a misuse of chat.

basically responding in anyway to harassment is dangerous, and it's usually better to just mute them instead. You don't have to take their harassment, but you are on the hook for how you respond."

Don't bother suggesting I appeal this, already tried. Apparently you aren't suppose to say ANYTHING back at all and pointing out her match history in hopes she would understand and stop harassing you will get you restricted and or banned. So yeah, just letting the community know and hopefully learn from my mistake. =D

Because IFS is garbage and the pathetic current riot (they don't deserve capitalization) staff is piggybacking off of previous employees. Game has been going downhill since about season 5/6. Fanboys will defend, but anyone who's played this game for any considerable amount of time will agree that they've (riot) has gone to shit. Any first-year programmer can design an "if-then" with regards to chat vocabulary. Sad that that's the best riot can come up with.

Chat is meant to be constructive and work towards objectives. I can appreciate you trying to bring order and sense to the team in order to keep playing, but I don't know why you brought up her match history, and only her negative matches. You hand picked matches and scores to insult and harass the jungler. Further, there's no need to tell someone you're reporting them, as that just further exacerbates the situation.

Don't they usually send you like 3 different chat logs? They might reveal more about the situation..
