Let me preface this by saying I have played this game "competitively" since Season 2. I've been along for all of the changes that have helped shape this game almost since inception. I've contributed a fair chunk of change with a rather expansive skin collection.

However, it is sad to say that I must bid Riot farewell. I wasn't sure where to put this, as I have not made a post on these boards before, but the reason I am leaving seemed to line up well with "Player Behavior" theme. I am quite honestly frustrated with the negativity and toxicity of the community. I used to play and enjoy myself, however recently I've found myself and others the target of flame wars and blame in game, so that the entire game becomes a text adventure of never-ending chat scroll. There is no recourse to this action aside from muting them, which doesn't stop the person from distracting the rest of your team and negatively influencing your game, while you futilely try to encourage your teammates to do the same.

The problem with this is that it has become so pervasive that it feels like it is a constant struggle to even play a game. Even in preseason I've had to mute at least one person in every game I've played - when nothing is on the line. It has gotten so bad that I actually force quit a game for the first time this week, because I would rather do anything else than suffer through my assigned "team". Something I have never done over my 7 years of playing this game, which made me take a look at how I actually feel about the game and if I actually enjoy playing it. Sadly, I do not.

I thank everyone at Riot for a mostly enjoyable experience and I wish you all the best of luck in the future. I will be taking my financial support elsewhere, to games where the community is much more positive and the company is not afraid to police negative and toxic members. I hope this post gets some sort of recognition and someone in the company tries to turn the ship around before you force out all of the positive members of the community.

Polite, thoughtful and well worded. Even when leaving you are giving a constructive feedback. I would rather loose 1000 toxic kids and Tyler1 than a member like you. You are right, flamers, inters and troll are ruining the fun and never get punished. I still enjoy the game thanks to the mute button, when i will not tolerate it anymore i will follow your steps.

From your post I think you are an awesome and positive person in RL, so good luck and farewell.

this is a tip to everyone who plays with toxic players; dont tell your team they should report the midlaner when he comes to your lane to steal farm and int after he dies twcie in his own because then you are the one ending up with chat restrictions and lose all your honor. the automatic system is heavily flawed and riot just doesnt care about you if you get punished without going against the summoners code.

8 Seasons is impressive.

20 would be more so.

Reform the "Reform System".

If it takes extra payroll to get people into the role of the Automatic system, it is worth it for another 8 Seasons of happy Summoners.

You'd have my support wholly.

I make money just to give to you to make League of Legends great. I'm sure that's the underlay of why we all spend.

I just finished a game where the adc called me and i quote "a fucking retared yi" beacuse i didnt push with no minions and the feed nasus is respawning.As far as i know the system bans people that have comited something 3 times in a row so what i can call someone the most racits and homophobic names one game and get reported and the second i can be nice and nothing happends ? The system needs to change i just dont think riot will change it beacuse of all the time and money it will consume.

The trolling has been annoying. What should be a fun time with the new patch is just down right irritating unless I'm playing with a friend I find myself not playing league

Kindly worded and not a rant in any way. Props to you, most people who quit just type a wall of all-caps and insult Rioters' mothers.

I feel your pain, this is why I never play solo. It's not worth running into toxicity alone, that just drains all of the fun out of playing.

Hey man, I'd say give it a try again in a few months when people stop chimping out because the season ended and they think they won't lose rewards. But if it stays bad, then I can only wish you the best in life and hope to see a cool guy like you in other games~

I completely agree with you OP. It really is out of hand right now. It almost feels like I'm back in S4 when you could flame non stop without fear of punishment. These players are not getting punished for their behavior in a meaningful way. You shouldn't have to mute chat just to play a game. It's a pretty big loss losing a player such as yourself.
