Well my first offense and I got a 14-day ban

Hey guys I have never been a toxic player and today I was playing Aram to just spend some time and came across this Zac on the enemy team. Now we were both joking with each other and I obviously was not taking what he told me seriously but this is my chat log:

After I said the markiplier thing (lol) he came at me with a "kys furry c**t" to wich I replied "thx" and then the rest of the match were us two throwing insults at each other. I understand that actualy telling someone to kill themselves is not ok but we were both just being asses to each other. I did not even make fun of anyone else. I guess they misunderstood and we both got reported but damn. This really sucks.

Do people seriously not read anywhere on this board before posting? How is it that there are 30+ posts every day of people being surprised that telling someone to kill themselves get's them punished? Why is our species like this?

You can't put a "i was joking" behind something and get off for free.

"I stole a wallet from my neighbour and they catched me with it the same day, I told them I was joking because I wanted to give it back tomorrow"

I don't think it was misunderstood. It seems that this was clearly against the Code of Conduct set forth by Riot so I'm not surprised for the ban. Sorry for the ban, just take this as a learning experience and try not to get into such situations again. Just be weary that you can be permanently banned for such behavior. Be careful what you say.

As the others have said, be very cautious in the future. Any viable reports, for any reasons (it doesn't have to be hate speech or death threats or kys comments) can result in bumping your account to the next punishment tier.

From the Instant Feedback System FAQs:

PUNISHMENTS GENERALLY FOLLOW A BASIC ESCALATION PATH:

  • First Offense: 10 Game Chat Restriction
  • Second Offense: 25 Game Chat Restriction
  • Third Offense: Two Week Suspension
  • Fourth Offense: Permanent Suspension

However, it is possible to skip to a Two Week or Permanent suspension based on the severity of the behavior in the game. Excessive negative behavior can result in a Two-Week or Permanent suspension at any time without having a chat restriction on the account.

For you, you're already on the two week suspension level, so anything else will tip you over. Even if it is just one game of losing your temper and flaming a troll. You're much better off just muting the guy, and not saying anything if you have the urge.

Flames team. "Oh, it's just playful banter. I do this to everyone." Hence why everyone gets the same treatment.

Tells someone to kill them self. "Oh, I tell everyone that. It's funny."

You can have disagreements, but who wants to see people flaming each other about petty things? It's a game. If you have a disagreement, you can at least be civil about it.

Context should be irrelevant. Toxicity is toxicity. Code of Conduct is very clear. Banter is fine, but there are ways to go about it where you don't come off looking like a troll. This behavior is indicative of troll behavior.

I'm not opposed to banter. Heck, I banter with my friends all the time. If it's not "clean" I'd keep it out of chat, though. It's nice to see when someone can admit to being wrong though. Kudos to you.

No its not only when you say it twice what doesnt makes sense when Riot themselves say "Zero" tollerance...once should be banned too other wise its totaly unfair
