Do you think this warrants a chat ban?

So basically I start out the game congratulating my top for double kill then I get taunted by Shen, Maokai E's to Ashe (who is behind) and then W them both towards me as I E away and trap Shen. I die, no big deal. I don't say anything until Maokai (my support) says to not focus Shen. I tell him "I wasnt" and then tells him not to push them towards me. He calls me bad repeatedly and tells me to rewatch on video (I actually do and I only autoed Ashe). Volibear comes to gank afterwards and I come to help as Maokai and I are full health but then Maokai hides under turret and pretends to back. I tell him to do something but he says to stop talking and he will. Okay, I stop talking then he says something that is censored, "**" and I tell him to "can you English". Then he calls me "retarded". Volibear then precedes to say in all chat to "report Maokai, he's toxic". Maokai says "lol 0/2 cait", "you are not adc, you are ad", etc. you get the picture. He then says that I'm being streamed on and says I'll be well known for being toxic. Volibear has said repeatedly to all chat to report Maokai and tells him to stop taunting and being toxic. Now the enemy team is against Volibear saying that he must be tilted for losing 4 games in a row. The toxicity was getting so bad that the enemy team even searched up his username to check his history.

The only times I was said "toxic" was when I said "good job everyone except Maokai" as he was literally just standing under turret backing with full health, "if you look up toxic, you'll see his face" as he repeatedly asked me what toxic was and then precedes to tell me that I'm toxic, and him saying that I've been pranked and being streamed right now and that I will be famous for being toxic and then I ask "how many viewers? 1?".

I was pretty sure that this Maokai would get a 2 week ban or at LEAST a chat ban but then he magically appears in my next game as the enemy support and at the end he says he never got a ban and tells me to enjoy my ban which was incredibly strange because right before he said that I get a notification saying I have a chat restriction. I was not toxic at all the game after Maokai was my support. In fact I was defending my teammate from another toxic player who happened to be feeding, but right after it ends I get a notification of a chat restriction. So that means that the chat restriction was from the game below in which, at least I believe, I wasn't toxic. So do you think what I said warrants a chat ban? Oh and for those asking why I didn't just mute him well I did and for some reason it just tells me how to mute and he kept on talking. I tried to follow the procedure but it shows up again.

Taunting other players, whether based on their gameplay, how you want to see them banned, etc, is not acceptable behavior. So yes, this does warrant a chat ban.

Lol, see what happens when you interact with these people? Just don't say shit to people anymore. Your mistake started at "don't push them towards me". You could have said that and then stayed silent. You made your point, he knows what you think, what's the point in arguing about it? Don't try to reason with these league players. It's only gonna result in trolling and toxicity. If you're quiet, you'll find yourself "running into" a lot less trolls. As for your question, given Riots rules, yes this warrants a punishment.
