I've noticed something strange...
I've been playing League off and on for two years now. When I first started, I was oblivious to the game's different champs, overall game-play, item builds, runes, masteries etc... As I've grown as a League player, those things came naturally to me. When I began delving deeper into this experience we call a game, I worried less about perfection regarding mechanics and focused on having fun with others in a great environment.
That being said, I wanted to comment on something I've noticed recently. As of late, players seem to be less toxic, or, with a few simple words of kindness, their toxicity has reduced drastically within a single game. I always try to remember that everyone has their own life and that not everyone is happy 24/7. This leads me to forgive a lot of rude comments or petty squabbling in-game. A good mindset is to always go into a fresh game with the assumption that the players you have been matched with are NOT toxic and are NOT the same player you were with three games ago that flamed you for a single KS. Simply maintaining this mindset has helped me immensely in my play. I focus less on negativity and in turn focus more on objectives. Does it burn a little when I get stomped? Oh yeah. If that happens, I remind myself, this is just a game. Games are supposed to be fun. This game in particular is a lot of fun as it allows growth socially (on and off-line) and growth mechanically in the game itself.
When you or your fellow summoners are having a bad game or experiencing toxic behavior, try a different strategy. Don't focus on the negatives, be positive and most likely your game will come out that way for you!
