The opposing mid player was beating our mid player in lane, and all chatted to our team that we should be flaming our mid player. I wanted our mid player to know that we are a team and will try together, so I responded to their mid player by saying, "oh, you're one of them flaming %%%s". Their mid player was toxic the entire team to our mid player, and I stood up for him so he wouldn't get too down, but little did I know, I would be the one punished for it...

I don't understand.

Hate speech is zero-tolerance. You used hate speech. The punishment for hate speech is a 14 day ban.

Using a homophobic slur is a pretty weak play there. I mean, if your purpose really was to show solidarity with your mid and get in some friendly ribbing, why not show a little more creativity? I've said things like, "have you considered breathing through your nose once in a while?" and "If I had a time machine with only one use, I'd go back and hand your parents the $5 for the name-brand condoms."

I'm not saying harass people, but you should work on upping your playful banter game.

The f word is part of Riot's zero tolerance policy where things like hatespeech, encouraging self harm, etc,. are punished with an automatic 14 day ban.

Just because you took part in flaming doesn't justify your actions. Your only purpose in this game is to play it. Not abuse the chat. That is what you agreed to. Regardless if you read the agreement or not, you will abide by it or face the consequences.

Retaliating against the problem with racial slurs doesn't fix the problem. You just become part of the problem.
