6 months ago I was bronze 4 mad and permabanned...

I used to be toxic as hell, raging at my teams without any reason. Like most bronze players probably have at one point or another. But since that day of my account getting perma banned I've invested into a new account putting all that talk about reform and no more toxic me I've climbed to Gold IV and have honor 4 which I'm pretty sure in a couple games will be honor 5. I'm not here to plead my case but I'm here to say toxicity doesn't win games. I've chosen this moment to speak of this because of the recent firing of Riot Sanjuro because of his well, toxic behaviour to say the least. To show that no one can get away with toxicity even rioters. Basically what i'm trying to say is being toxic doesn't do anything but make you perma banned. It doesn't make you alpha #freetyler1. It doesn't make you cool. It hurts people's emotions that's all i got to say i went from bronze 4 to gold 4 in 6 months roughly just from pulling the chat box off my screen. You are playing a video game for entertainment. He was employed by a company and represented them in a horrible way. If you've ever had a job then you would know that speaking like that would get you fired. He said it in the OFFICIAL LOL DISCORD for fucks sake, he made a dumb decision and let's hope he reflects on it in his future employments.

I doubt he will be unemployed until hes 80

It doesn't take 50~ years of unemployment to ruin your life. It only takes as long as you have savings to lean on. The most that people usually save up for is 6 months for job searching, maybe 18 months maximum. With how the community blew this up, it's going to haunt him for far longer than that.

He could wind up a complete mental wreck, unable to even leave his home. Or worse, he could become homeless. I'm serious, have you ever seen what happens to people after such a witch hunt is over? Look up Justine Sacco. A year later she was suicidal, couldn't go outdoors for fear of being stalked or harassed, and couldn't find a job anywhere.

What he said was wrong, but the outcome here is absurdly disproportionate.

That has nothing to do with Riot firing him. Just shitty comminity backlash but he should of still been fired.

Two weeks unpaid leave would have sufficed. But that aside, I'm more disappointed in the community backlash. People acted like rabid animals ravening for the kill. They took joy in his career's demise.

There is nothing good about the situation, just somebody who fucked up and the consequences that followed. It's sad, not good.

I'm disturbed that people went this crazy over it.

Yeah dude, it's very disturbing and it's happened to many others in other careers. It's the vindictive, vengeful nature of a society that puts too much weight on words, combined with Riots own policies for in game toxicity, that made people even more angry.

Ugh... I have a feeling that video will only piss me off lol. I've watched many things that go against this PC culture of ostracizing people for opinions and honest thoughts ... Richard Dawkins banned from speaking at Berkeley for his views on islam... as if they think hes being racist... it only frustrates me. Hell, I've been banned on these forums before for speaking on topic about my homophobia and the reasons for it. It wasn't judgemental, or negative towards gays, it was merely speaking on why I think I have that trait. It's not hateful, it's literally a phobia, doesn't mean I hate them or don't want equality. Yet, banned. Whatever, I understand... can't talk about that shit here, even though it was the topic of the thread. I can't watch shit like that anymore. Society today really honestly makes me so angry, it's depressing. I wish I didn't take it so seriously, but it's a scary direction for a society to go. Very 1984-esque. And yet people eat it up, thinking they're doing the right thing most of the time. They don't see the bigger picture and the importance of a society of free thought and speech.

Sanjuro was certainly punished because of his behavior, but the severity of punishment was probably far worse because of public backlash.

We as a community are not free from responsibility simply because we are seeking vengeance for a wrongdoing.

Tyler1 is still toxic. He's not ready to be unbanned yet. That said, I think that the punishment and reform system could do with improvements to better aid players in becoming less toxic.

A RIOT SILVER V employee with BAN capabilities who in fact did ban people after games for saying "GG EZ" commented/disrespected a CHALLENGER PLAYER who is reformed he has honor 5 and proof. He still reacted calmly denying he has cancer in his testicles and he is not taking/never has taken steroids and other drugs. Not saying that he deserved his ban/firing just saying that whoever he was shouldnt have said that in anywhere, but said it in a PUBLIC DISCORD SERVER WHERE HIS NAME AND RIOT TAG WERE VISIBLE questionable choice sanjuro

I did /muteall every game and typed gg wp at the end of every game win or lose. I click on the blue bar above the chatbox then pulled it down below.

The only comment I'll make to your post is that even though it can be difficult to keep the chat box on your screen, sometimes it's good to still have the option to communicate. It's necessary and some people may get frustrated if you aren't trying to actively be a part of the 'team'. Yes, there are other ways to do this and I'm sure it's not a big deal, but whenever you can get to a point where you can handle it, might be the next - big - step in the right direction.
