Smurfs

Why doesn't riot have a report for smurfs? It ruins the ranking system when a diamond player comes in and wrecks house. Seriously, should be a specific report for smurfs to prevent them from wanting to smurf. Then Riot can decide whether to ban them or automatically raise them in ranking

Then people would report everyone more skilled than them accusing them of being smurfs.

Because a "Smurf" is just another account. If someone is working up through the ranks (like they are supposed to,; that's how Ranked works), there are just going to be a few games where they are better than their opponents.

Also, what he said:

Then people would report everyone more skilled than them accusing them of being smurfs.

Really, there would be 2 or 3 reports every ranked game coming from whoever lost lane.

I have a smurf account solely for testing out new champions and new build paths before I take them onto my main account.

You can't prove people are smurfing. That's why it's not listed as reportable.

You are treading old ground; the fact is, Riot has no way to know if an account is a smurf or not. If they did, you can bet they would try to put some kind of restriction on it. I believe the only reason they aren't that vocal about it is because they don't want to alienate players who like to smurf since they can't do anything about it anyway. It's just a reality of the game, unfortunately.

Because it's hard to decide if someone is an actual smurf or not... Hard to enforce.

The smurf problem is mostly fixed by the mmr system currently in place. I have a smurf and after 1 game on that account im already playing against 9 other smurfs. I see a legitimately new player maybe once every 5 games.

Because smurfs are allowed. That said, in 95% of the cases, smurfing is pointless. Why play against a few teams where you can stomp? That isn't fun, and it likely just makes you play worse yourself. I have a smurf myself. It's lvl 20 but is only slightly below my normal MMR already.

The issue I see is when people throw games with their smurfs or have multiple people play on them, which is already grounds for banning. Then you end up with, for example, a bronze or silver player that is actually gold or plat in some matches. Then they use that that carry friends in ranked. That kind of stuff should be banned (for both the offender and the person being carried by somebody who they knew would then be doing something prohibited).

Regular smurfs aren't really a problem, tbh. It's just the ones that artificially lower their MMR that are an issue, and rito doesn't seem to want to acknowledge or address that problem anyway.

automatically raise them in ranking

Riot can't change MMR/Rankings directly, their Ranked system is locked so that even employees can't temper with their own ranking.
