Player penalties are immoral and completely unfair

Good afternoon everyone,

1st of all this is long. I don't frequent the forums at all, but I am sure many of these type posts have been made. Some good , some bad. Currently, I am suspended for 14 games. I previously have had 2 accounts perma banned that I spent a decent amount of money on. Below I have quoted the exact text that got me suspended with comments. I may be an ass sometimes, but never have I ever said hate speech(racist, homophobic, ect). Never have I said someone should walk into traffic or kill themselves, which many have said to me. I curse and I get frustrated, but I always pertain it to the game.

I find it sickening at what is considered "toxic" in this game. Never-mind the person that will not speak in champ select and troll picks, or goes 0-7 in the first 10 min. The person that goes afk 3 times in a match but always comes back just in time to avoid penalty. Let's not even bring up how bad it was before people got to choose their role. Never-mind the people the ACTUALLY ruin games. They can do that all they want, with 0 penalty. But, don't you dare say a word about it. And don't you dare tell someone they suck because they are ruining a game or feeding. What's worse is that I was suspended less that 5 min after a game. Who is reviewing this? A pre-made of 4 could troll and just report people and get accounts people spent money on banned? That isn't right.

When I started this game, Shen was the new champ. Not sure how close to beta that was. Not once have I ever seen Riot make a point to separate Ranked from Normal. Ranked is supposed to be competitive, Look at any competitive sport in the world, and tell me emotions don't run high. I'm sorry, but if can't handle few curse words then GTFO and play normal. It's horrible that Riot still caters to this passive aggressive bullshit and in effect steals, yes STEALS, money from people over it. Riot, haven't you make your Gazillions already? Can't you actually make ranked a skill based competition? Stop catering to these children so you can make an extra buck and rob the real players out there.

And no, going through support isn't the best route. I tried that multiple times and all you get is a copy and paste bullshit suit and tie answer. NOTHING I said deserves a suspension. Anyways, as I said, here is the game chat logs that got me suspended this time. Judge for yourself if should be able to play for 2 weeks:

Okay, several things.

  1. Any amount of time gone from the game counts towards the leavebuster penalty, and the system is more intelligent than you think. Merely coming back and wiggling a little bit doesn't stop the system from detecting you. Just because they didn't get punished this one time doesn't mean that they would never get punished. It's much more likely that they haven't built up enough afk/dc time for it to flag them.

  2. That pre-made of 4 trolling a person still relies on you snapping and venting your anger in chat. It's still completely in your control to avoid getting banned. You're in control of your own actions in chat. And people do get banned for trolling, it just doesn't happen as often since the system want to make sure that it never bans someone for simply playing really bad unintentionally. Report them if they troll, don't bother bringing it to chat since it's not going to help.

  3. If you can't handle being civil in chat then Riot will tell you to GTFO. Yes, I know you want to vent your anger on other players, but this is not allowed. Yell at your screen or something instead.

  4. Riot is not stealing from you. Your account is not yours, it's Riot's. They agree to let you continue using it so long as you continue to abide by their rules. This is the case for all online games.

They get penalized, you just don't see it because it isn't happening to you. Riot doesn't send you a message every time they punish someone else, just when you do.

Maybe they are just bad? Losing your lane against a much more skilled opponent isn't against the rules.

They will get punished if they are reported for it a few times. Most people don't report for that though for whatever reason.

Well, harassing people is against the rules. So yeah, don't do that. You can recommend a better way of doing things in a positive way, but the way you just described it is just harassment.

An automated system that reviews games based on past detailed reports that tell what people do and don't consider toxic, within reason. Riot doesn't explain exactly how it works for security reasons, but I would imagine that riot employees gather info based on what people say in the reports, then update the system to look for it.

It counts games you were reported in, not how many times you were reported. So like, 20 reports across 5 games is five games you were reported in, not twenty times you were reported. Also if they are falsely reporting you then their report weight will drop and their reports will mean less to the system.

That is a link to the NFL's page for fines and appeals against them. Scroll down to the sportsmanship section. Taunting your opponent is a $9,000 fine minimum, excessive profanity is $12,000.

You aren't being banned because we are offended or cant handle curse words. I have used them before in game and otherwise and never been punished. You are being banned because nobody wants to play with you, and riot feels you are a big enough detriment and lack commitment to reforming from your behavior in any aspect that they want you to take your business elsewhere.

Read the terms of service you agreed to. You agreed that you could be banned with no reimbursement. You also agreed that you could be banned if, according to section 2.1.2 subsection (c), "doing so would be in the best interests of our community, the Riot Services, or the rights of a third party." I am not speaking for Riot games 100%, but if I had to guess in court they would go with that one.

The only reason they are making any extra money off of you is because you come back and give it to them. Why not just go skinless?

I bet that "copy and paste bullshit" covered your question in full if you took the time to read it without being upset that they aren't just unbanning you. I could be wrong, people have made mistakes and misclicked the copy button before.

Sorry if this seems conceited, I do not usually pick apart posts like this. There were just so many different topics that I wanted to discuss that I had to separate them. Really I have seen posts about all of these individually but never so many together like this XD

If I go on and talk too much about your chat logs this post will be really long, but basically you aren't overly offensive from a racist stand point or anything, you are just consistently negative and you feel the need to harshly criticize everything you see. It isn't your job and it is really annoying and tilting. If you said everything you said in a more positive and constructive way, like giving a solution instead of just the problem, then you would probably never even be reported.

Good luck in the future if you continue to play, and keep in mind that your next punishment will be a permanent ban on this account unless you go a considerable length of time showing signs of reforming. That will lower your tier of punishment.

Sorry if you disagree with what Riot considers toxic, but I'm very very sure the majority of the community actually agrees with this. That has nothing to do with "catering to children", but rather with catering to the majority of players that also happen to be obviously more mature than you, given your childish blaming, the childish insults, and the childish tantrum you are now throwing.

The title of this post is "player penalties are completely immoral and unfair" and yet not once in your post do you give a decent argument how player penalties are completely immoral and unfair.

People who feed or troll in ranked get punished all the time so I have no idea what you're talking about that those actions have zero penalty. And if you knew anything about how the report system works you'd know that multiple reports don't increase the chance of someone being banned and riot knows who you queue up with and takes into account if an entire premade reports you.

Furthermore, you obviously have never read the terms of use that YOU AGREE TO EVERY SINGLE TIME A NEW PATCH COMES OUT. Riot makes it clear that you don't own ANYTHING on your account and that they can modify or delete your account for any reason or for no reason. Anything you buy in league of legends is effectively a lease. Riot retains the rights to everything in game and even says in their terms of use that content in the game has no monetary value.

If you want people to actually listen to you then you need to educate yourself on how the system actually works and come back with some constructive arguments.
