why is there a language filter?
if you get banned for talking shit. if you don't want to see that kind of talk then leave your language filter on. it shouldn't result in a ban. saying really horrible things to each other is fun for some of us.

Then you should do that in places where it's tolerated. League is not one of those places.
The language filter exists because some players don't like to see curse words, which are considered acceptable if used properly ("That was fucking intense" is okay, "fuck you, you shit player" is not).
The language filter does not exist to enable hate speech and abuse. If you enjoy that, seek another gaming community.

Unfortunately for you, Rito does not think it is fun and Rito is god, police, judge, jury, and executioner in this game. You don't get to dictate anything.
I'd be willing to bet it only exists to keep their ESRB rating (and the similar rating systems in other countries) down to Teen level or thereabouts. Most MMOs I know of have a swear filter that's default-ON.
You could argue it doesn't even block toxicity. If anything, it highlights it. "%%%% ya" isn't going to get you punished. "you're like every other %%%%ing Nami jungle" will get you punished.
A filter doesn't give you a right to harass others. It doesn't prevent you from harassing others.
Because people are oversensitive.
demoralization can be done in less toxic ways. BM is a real godly way to do it.
At the expense of others... ? There are better ways to have fun without being an ass to someone.
Teen rating on the game and just some people don't need to see cursing, being told to kys, or just any other illicit words that are not really conducive to making the game and its community positive. There is not a ban if you curse it is more about how you do it and in what manner. If you're saying fuck and its something you're saying after a poor play, it's excusable. I've yet to read someone saying they got a chat ban cause they said one word, it doesn't work that way. But if you had a kid playing and some drunk got agro and told your 14 year old daughter to suck on '''whatever'''... i am not saying she wouldn't know what it meant, but its language a child shouldn't be told.
