so let me get this. we got a mute button but no one wants to use it. instead, they have to cry to mommy riot to punish anyone who is mean to them. we have a chat filter but no one uses it, instead profanity will lead to chat restriction. at the same time, in all the games i've been in, rarely does ANYONE care if a player is griefing or refusing to play by simply laning. these players don't ever get reported. the only thing people care about is if someone said something mean to them. that is the only thing people report for. what is wrong with this community?

A community who treats each other poorly isn't much of a community I would want to be apart of, would you? Perhaps the community is trying to get rid of the players that are abusive.

I hardly think this should be seen as a negative aspect, as you seem to see it.

The reason you see more people getting banned for profanity and verbal abuse is because it is much easier to detect. And I don't get why you think other people "aren't reporting" griefers, as you like to call them. You don't get to see who does and does not report nor do you have a right to know that. If YOU aren't actively reporting those who "grief" in your game for "simply laning" then you're not taking an active step to clean the game up. One report is as effective as nine, and the sooner you start realizing that you can't clean up the toxicity overnight the sooner you can realize the community IS trying to work on cleaning it up.

How is hitting a report button more childish or tearful than your post here ?

I'm more sick of the raging community we have, if I have to be honest.

We don't have an obligation to deal with other people's chemical unbalances. I'll simply ignore you and keep playing, of course, that comes with a small sprinkle of reporting your ass at the end of the match for being a liability to the community.

It's not that I'm offended by insults. I quite understand I'm a far better person than the other. I'm annoyed by insults. I'm annoyed that I'm trying to play while someone is harping on every minor mistake.

Let's go with the yapping dog scenario.

There are 5 players in a room. One of them is a tiny yappy dog. The shrill annoying kind. Four players on the team are trying to concentrate. The fifth is a yappy dog. He's playing, but he's also yapping. I do something wrong. Maybe I give up first blood. It happens, nobody is perfect, and the dog comes over to me and starts yapping right at me as I'm trying to concentrate on playing.

If they eventually go away, I won't report them. But if that dog keeps yapping and yapping and yapping, attacking my ears like the sting of bees at every moment while I'm trying to make up for the mistake I made, it detracts from my play. In fact, I've had a jungle so on my case I ended up giving up two towers trying to wrest blue from him because he wouldn't give me blue or come into my lane because of a single missed gank. At a certain point, the yapping gets so distracting I can't play.

So I ask the management to come over and remove the yapping dog. League of Legends is a game after all, I'd like to play it and enjoy it and relax without yapping dogs. Most players don't want a yapping dog.

I** report negative players always. I report those who troll and feed and such on purpose always. **

I never post in chat that I have done this. Why do I need to? I report and move and hope for the best.

Telling people to report another player is a form of harassment, and is also a reportable offense.

Griefing and being a douchebag are both reported by people. I think you're just butt hurt you got in trouble for being a dickhead.

You. You are what's wrong with this community.

https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/203066050-Tribunal-FAQ#h1q1 WHY IS VERBAL ABUSE PUNISHABLE IF THERE IS A MUTE BUTTON/LANGUAGE FILTER? Players shouldn't need to rely on features like the mute button or language filter to engage with other players in positive ways. When a player verbally abuses another player and forces him to use the mute button, they have already created a negative experience for that player.
