Summoners Leaving In-game Ranked Games

I am currently sitting at S3 elo, not very long ago i was S1, and the main reason i dropped was because people simply left the game specifically due to counter picks. A recent example of this is when a Riven that was on my team got killed to the new Poppy. Riven was 0/1/0, level 4, and just left the match never to return. After being forced into a position o having to 4v5 we simply surrenders and I lost 23 L.P. due to something i could not control. Because of this i thought of the idea that," When someone leaves due to internet or a counter pick the team mates should loose less L.P. than what is standard."

Its a system that balances itself out. Eventually weeds out the bad apples. In the long run, statistically the only person with control over your rank is you.

Yes and no. This question comes up alot and that system could be exploited. also it would increase toxicity and you would see alot of harassment back and forth like "Wow, this top/bot lane/ jg so bad, pls AFK so I don't lose as much LP", even for little misplays that weren't a big deal.

I just reached gold last night, and I'm not that good. My winning promo game we had a MF Support who was on an 8 game losing streak (obvious troll is obvious).

So just keep grinding and avoiding tilt and you will rank up, because if I can do it, anybody can do it.
