Riot Support Permanently Banned my Account for Trying to Recover it. Help Please.

Context: In late 2014, I was dealing with someone getting my e-mail information and subsequently my account information since I used the same password for both League and my e-mail. And I know what you all are wondering now, "Why did you wait until now to try and recover your account then?" The answer is that I HAVEN'T WAITED UNTIL NOW, I have been trying over a dozen times to get back my main account (which is rightfully mine) that I have spent over $600 on. I had 54 Skins on the account, all the champions, and 20 rune pages.

Therefore, I emailed Riot Support looking for them to actually help a customer who is dealing with account recovery issues thinking they would actually give half a shit about THE CUSTOMER. And what do I get? They PERMANENTLY BAN my account, which I have been using for over four years and have invested half a grand into.

HERE, is the first e-mail that I send to Riot Support containing way way more information than is even needed. This should in every way verify that I am the original account holder.

HERE, is the e-mail I get in response to the above e-mail. They ask for more information, okay, sure, considering I have all the info on this account it doesn't bother me. I think, "Well, as long as I get my account back it doesn't bother me to send the requested info."

HERE, is the final e-mail I receive from a Riot Support member called 'DJ MUNDO' who permanently bans my account after I've supplied more than enough information.

Since Riot doesn't seem to care about their customer, I'm considering charge-backing ALL $600 worth of the payments that I have sent to Riot Games. I have tried multiple times since these e-mails to try and get back the account WHICH I MADE, that was permanently banned for trying to recover it. This is NOT how a company should be treating their customers who are trying to recover a compromised account.

If any Riot member could help me get my account back, I can answer ANY question regarding the account, since obviously I am the owner.

You'll spend way more defending the charge back in court and you eventually will lose because it's straight up illegal. You agreed to the ToS. It explicitly states that even though you pay for skins you don't own anything. You just purchased the right to use it until Riot decides otherwise.

Now that you've threatened to charge back the money you spend I bet a Rioter is more willing to help you.

Lol are you joking? Chargeback fraud is only a relevant charge in the most extreme cases, this definitely not being one of them. Besides, I doubt even .05% of chargeback cases go to court. Any reputable bank will give your money back, no questions asked, with no proof needed. All you need to do is explain the situation and file a dispute with your bank.

Any company worth it's sht will right their wrongs if reasonable and possible. An angry customer making one thin threat is not going to change that unless the company is run by extremely immature people.

I'm a customer advocate for a company and we try our best to do what we can within the given policies. However, ANY time legal terms like lawyer or court are thrown around, we stop helping and let the lawyers settle things. We don't want what we said to be used against us. IF you're going to get a lawyer we will let our lawyer deal with the issue now. It has left the realm of what we can help you with.

Let that be a lesson to all the angry customers out there that make threats because they think it helps them. No, we are already doing everything we can to help. Threatening the ones trying to help you (admittedly, they might not be able to do much due to policies, but they are trying) is going to make them stop helping you.

Never, ever, ever. I swear I have only used this account myself. This was my first league account ever and it took me so long to get all the champions. I will take responsibility, yes it is my fault that it got compromised for a second time. I made a mistake, and I fully take responsibility for that, but I just want a second chance.

It just feels weird that I got permanently banned for this. I didn't cheat, I wasn't toxic, I didn't break any rules of the summoner code that I agreed to follow back when I made the account in season 2. I just dont understand why Im banned for trying to recover my account..

But how do they know you didn't sell the account 2 times with cash or something? that's why you got banned. I am not saying this is what happened, I am telling you why it is banned. Also, you didn't change the email when you recovered the account? This stinks a bit not gonna lie. Plus technically it's your 3rd chance if you get it

As account security is your responsibility, if you can't keep it secure, then it looks like you're selling the account, claiming it was hacked, and selling it again, claiming it was hacked, and selling it again... etc...

Riot does permanently suspend those who get their accounts compromised multiple times. This is mainly to prevent fraud (selling your account and recovering it to scam somebody). At this point, there is probably no way for them to know that you're the original owner since both your email was compromised and you already had your account stolen once before.

I'm confused about the timeline a bit. So you made the account, then how long after did it get stolen? Did you get it back and it was stolen again multiple times or has it been stolen for years?

I made the account, 2-3 years go by and it gets stolen. I recover it. Then it gets stolen again. I try to recover it again but this riot support bans it instead of recovering it. I then send a support ticket asking for my account back every couple of months and keep getting automated responses saying that the decision is final. When i didnt do anything wrong

Well, technically you did do something, which was had the account stolen. You are supposed to keep track of your own account and make sure that no one else has access to it. So considering you said it was stolen, recovered and stolen again they decided to close it since you don't appear to be that responsible regarding the security of the account.

How would you like it if your account got stolen out of the blue, you get it back and you check your computer for viruses and change e-mail password and do everything you can think of and then it gets stolen again and riot says youre permanently banned.

The account isn't yours. Read the ToS. You own nothing in league of legends and Riot can do whatever they want with your account at any time for any reason.

If you bought through paypal, chargebacks are basically trivial. 6 month window of opportunity.

Most of the time people chargeback it works out fine for 'em, though. Only problem is the account gets perma'd, which... isn't a problem. If they don't do anything in a week, it's probably the practical option. Chargebacks tend to get harder the longer ago the purchase was, though.

Hey at least what happened to you didnt happen to me, 5 years ago i had to get my paypal recovered and they asked for me to send them a copy of my id, so i did, directly to paypal in the email response that they sent me, this got my paypal account unlocked and reverified, about 4 months go by and next thing i know i start getting phone calls stating that i owe money on a car lease and the car had to be repo'd. Well after getting a second call about it i answer it and talk to them, turns out i had somehow lived in texas while never living in texas. from there i find out that someone had access to my email and got a copy of my ID, used it to make a fake id and steal my identity, but the best part is is that im transgender and the person that stole my id had to dress up like a lady with a 5 oclock shadow to use that fake id, yes it says im male 6' + with lipstick and everything. but yeah thats my story
