So calling someone idiot and retarded is not banned but the person who got called was banned?

Plat elo game, our team got invaded, I flashed over the wall to get away from morg's q. Thresh threw lantern as I was flashing on the other side of the wall already. Then Thresh said I was retarded and idiot for not grabbing his lantern, and said he was going afk. Then, I got banned for telling them to not call someone retarded or idiot and I guess there were duo queues and they somehow managed to have enough reports to get me banned. I don't really care about chat restriction because I barely type in game but I do care about my honor level. Even if I don't get unbanned, I am just wondering if this is the standard of league of legends community that riot is talking about? (someone getting away with after being toxic, and the victim became a scapegoat as well as getting punished?)

Think of it like a leveling system, but for toxicity.

In every game when you are toxic, you gain a little bit of toxicity pts, depending on severity. When you pass a threshold, you get punished.

You could have started the game at 99% towards the threshold and they are at 30%. If that's the case, any little toxicity will get you punished and they would need ALOT to get them punished.

they somehow managed to have enough reports

The number of reports in a single game doesn't matter unless it's either 0 or 1. It means either the game won't be reviewed or it will.
