Lane Steal

So I'm sure everybody has had that time when they call a lane first in norms and somebody proceeds to call the same one 15 seconds later and autolock immediately because they lost the call. I know it's not written that you have to obey this "rule", but 7 seasons later it's basically a rule. My question is: Why is this not a reportable offense? I know it's just norms and all but some people want to have a relaxed game which is much harder to find in ranked. Either way no matter what your reasoning is, it'd be such an easy thing to make it reportable. It would be so much nicer.

Blind Pick is practically a lawless area where every man must fend for himself. You want an answer to autolocking, it's Draft Pick because you get your role assigned to you.

you answered your own question and proceeded to complain about something you already knew the answer to because you didnt like the answer... consider this me being nice to try and help you understand

blind pick has no rules about lanes, champions, or roles. it's also where new players start out playing because aram, draft, and maybe even treeline requires them to own more than 5 champs. calling your lane is not required when playing blind. you're going in blind - I.E. without a plan of action.

if it was supposed to be a rule then they would have made it a part of the game.

if you want a specific lane then play draft normals. those games are set up to mimic the ranked mode and they're designed to auto assign lanes. 1 person in each lane (jungle is a lane) and then a support for the team.

a word of advice about normals and blind both - there are 3 paths 2 rivers and 4 jungle quadrants. that's 9 areas that need to be maintained and controlled. 5 people cant be everywhere at once so obviously you're not confined to just the lane you're given or the lane you choose. if you dont take advantage of the entire map your opponents will. overcrowd areas at your own peril.

Hi Buddy,

I know the situation isn't pleasant especially if you call the lane before hand, but as some other chat responses have indicated, it is the most casual 'normal' game mode. If you decide to play blind pick, the risk of that situation happening is raised because nobody is 'locked' into any sort of role.

It's a laid back mode essentially, so the best advice I'll give is if you play blind pick, be open to playing any role. Again, it's laid back so though you should play your best, don't let it stress you out or frustrate you.

When I started playing back in Season 2, blind pick was my go-to. I usually let everyone claim their roles and took whatever was left. Usually that meant support lol but it was what it was. To me, if everyone got what they wanted, I thought it raised my team's chances of achieving victory. I didn't mind that much because it was just a normal game.

We are fortunate now to have draft modes that allow us to play the roles we want, especially since old draft didn't lock you into a role. It only allowed you to ban champs and not allow for the nerve racking duplicate matchups.

If you want to play a specific role, play the modes that allow you to do that :)

Good Luck on the Fields of Justice!

I've recently started doing blind pick and the casual nature of it is actually really fun. Somehow, there's no problems with someone getting stuck with support. Most of the time no one talks in the lobby, other than calling lane. And I've played some very off meta shit there before and recieved no flame for it. Blind pick has been a good time for me lately.
