14 Day Banned with no chat restriction or any warnings

I was just recently banned after playing one ranked game and have had no prior chat restriction or any behavioral warnings. I have never inted or afked or flamed. In this game I notified the enemy team to report a member of my team for calling me a fa***t. I did not star out this word when writing it and wanted to know if the bot that does banning is truly that sensitive to the word and if that word can be the cause to my ban. Any input is appreciated.

Riot issues 14-day bans (skipping earlier tiers of punishment) for use of hate speech, even if you're just quoting somebody else who said it. You might be able to get it lifted if you contact player support, but keep in mind Riot doesn't usually revert bans. There is small precedent for it, I've seen somebody get their punishment lifted in a similar case, but don't get your hopes up, because that chance is entirely dependent upon if Riot has changed their policies or if they believe you.

Something else to consider, you don't need to ask people to report a player. The system weighs 1 report the same as 9 reports. So you can quietly report the player without publicizing it. This is actually beneficial, because if the player in question is angry with you and you show them that it's getting to you, they will want to continue to harass you. Likewise if they are trolling you and you announce that it is getting under your skin then they will want to do it more.

tldr;

You were punished for using hate speech, even quoting somebody else counts in Riot's eyes.
You don't need to ask for reports. It won't affect the player's likelihood of being punished, and it will only encourage them to harass you more.

yea i dont ever see them lifting bans. still just cant seem to justify a 14 suspension due to chats without any warnings. if chatting is the issue chat ban is the perfect solution.

Generally speaking it does work that way. You get chat bans first (instead of 14-day) for any other toxic chat behavior. It's just hate speech that they consider so unacceptable that they immediately jump to the harsher tiers of punishment.

Keep in mind that 14-day is like probation; any behavior that triggers a punishment now (regardless of how small) will result in a permanent ban. I don't know how long you will have to be on good behavior for, but it would probably be good to study up on how to avoid punishment.

yes ive been through this before. essentially after you get a 14 day ban you can never send another chat again.

the entire community consists of either brainless toxic players, overly optimal white nights that cant look at a curse word in a chat, and actual good players that dont wanna deal with bs. im 100% sure your post is a drawn out version of what riot says in the 14 day ban card for being "toxic". yes i said the word fa***t that is for sure worthy of a essentially permanent ban on an account that people spend money on lmfao.

Honestly I'm not sure why you took that attitude with me, I haven't judged you and I'm not against you here.

Since you don't want to read the post, I've provided the excerpt most relevant to your situation here:

If teammates are harassing you, responding will only antagonize them further and ensure that they will keep harassing you. Additionally, by responding you are giving them attention, which will only encourage the behavior more. If you instead mute them then you won't have to see any of the rancid bullshit they type, and you won't be feeding their behavior by giving them attention.

Additionally, like I said in my first comment. There is no need to call for others to report. It's unnecessary and actually only serves to escalate the situation because it will further antagonize the person being reported. The most likely outcomes are that player raging further, or them trolling more.

I still don't understand why you're getting confrontational with me, I'm legit just talking about how situations usually go in-game and how behavior and rewards affect that. I'm not even accusing you of anything or looking down on you in any way.

Hmmm... repeating taboo words such as encouraging others to harm themselves or hate speech is never a good idea.

Contact https://support.riotgames.com and ask them to review the punishment.

That being said, you really don't need to repeat what he said nor ask for reports. 1 report works the same way as 9 reports, and more reports won't get people punished faster. So just let brand know that what he said isn't cool and report him yourself after the game. No need to ask anyone else to report them.
