Dealing with trolls
I am doing a paper about in-game trolls and would like to know what you guys think the best way to deal with trolls is.

Flame hard in the chat... let the troll win.
Lol is the hardest game to effectively deal with trolls, you pretty much have to ignore them and try to still win. Then report him afterwards. It's not like some shooters where you can simply kick the offender or a game like rocket league, where you have enough power as an individual to carry past a intentional troll.
Pay no attention to them, don't even mention that they are trolling. These guys/gals/apache helicopters love attention, so don't give it to them.

appeal to their sense of ego however it churns your stomach if they are talking you can win them over and get them to try hard
Depends on the troll honesty, the most effective method however is to simply report them after game(for league at least) and to ignore them. if they're toxic ignore the troll and just make sure you and the rest of your team stays positive.
duct tape and bungee cord fix all your problems.
