Why toxicity shouldnt be a problem in league of legends

Hey whats up, ive been playing league for about 2 years now. Finished season 5 gold and just climbed out of silver (painful af). In about 55% of my games i have to admit i have been toxic, whether it has been because my team doesnt know how to rotate, miscommunication, or feeders. but all i have to say is that it takes two people to be toxic or a least more than 1. If a person is being a jerk just mute, after all thats y the button is there. Riot punishes toxicity so harshly they might as well take away the mute button because no one ever uses it. Even when you have a cooperative team pings work better than typing alot of times. This game is so competitive that it league players would have to be super human to be nice all the time. People act like league is the only game when there is toxic behavior. i dont even feel toxic is the correct adjective to describe shit talkers. i know for a fact trolls in champ select and occasional intentional feeders get way less punishment than a "toxic" person. people in this game act like they are 5 years old and have never been insulted online b4. i believe that shit talking in games isnt a feel problem, just one that has been fabricated to give casual players something to turn to.

This is your opinion and you're entitled to it. However, the vast majority of League players tend to disagree. Further, the player behavior systems has rules that reinforce the notion that verbal abuse and toxicity is a problem (because that system is influenced by views of the majority of players, gathered via surveys) . You should follow those rules or else you run the risk of being punished when you don't.

it has been said many times before and i say it again, the mute option and the profanity filter is in place to protect players from negativ behavior, not to excuse a player`s negativ behavior.

if a other player is forced to mute someone in order to play, is that person already breaking the terms there allow them to play in the first place.

It's a problem because toxicity, directly or indirectly, is a bad influence on other players. It starts from one person and some people respond back the frowned-upon attitude and it keeps going. I think it's natural to feel frustrated when things aren't going well but pretty sure the toxic person was already miserable, so don't spread that out to other people.
