Question for Riot; Who shown Negative Behaviour and should get Punished.

Hello Riot,

I got a question; Would this Draven deserve a punishment for negative behaviour?

Chatlog: Draven:"Come on Darius please stop" Draven:"Darius are you facking serious?" Draven:"You Facking Idiot, Stop that!" Draven:"Sorry, I'm done, I'll go!"

Yes or no? Probably you say yes right at this point. Rude words and leaving the game.

But now the Story behind Chatlog: Darius and Draven are walking on the rift. Darius suddenly pulls Dravens hair. Draven said:"Come on Darius please stop that!" Then 2 minutes later. Darius pull Dravens hair again. Draven says:"Darius are you facking serious?" Darius laughs it away. 2 minutes later. Darius pulls Dravens hair again. Draven become mad and start yelling at him: "You Facking Idiot! Stop that!" 2 minutes later Darius does it again Draven is almost too mad to react and just stop walking. But with his last kindness he says:"Sorry, I'm done. I'll go."

Same question: Would this Draven deserves a punishment for negative behaviour?

Yes or no? Probably you feel sorry for Draven now and say Darius deserve a punishment for doing bad things over and over again.

With this I want to show you Chatlogs are not provide you the exact information you know to punish certain people. Bad actions are the dark side of this game, A lot are called as "Just a bad game", while you see actions leads to reactions. Albert Einstein. You are cleaning the floor but there water still leaks on to it. But for words you got some blacklist and if you hit up 10 you are really mean. Without any context. Because you say. You shouldn't be negative under all circumstances.

Well, the situation you described is pretty unrealistic, especially if the two players don't know each other. Even if Darius was taking Draven's cs or something, Draven's outburst would still be considered insulting and toxic language (nothing too serious though).

Plus, aggressive self-defense is not exempt from punishment. If someone's jungling and gives an enemy laner first blood, even if it was on purpose, calling them names and accusing them is still punishable.

I think you don't understand what i try to say. This Darius probably will not be punished for his acts. Because he said nothing and his acts wil get the stamp "Just a bad game". Of course it's unrealistic I just give you an example of actions that to reactions. Of course you can't pull someones hair when you play the game. But If they flame you (I give an example) with cancer. And you lost your Mother by cancer. It feels the same way as get pulled by your hair. Or if he intentional feed, won't listen in a teamgame, mock you after you try to help him.

But you probably never had any restrictions of bans because you got 2 camps on this game. Your camp that's never been punished think this system works pretty well. The other camp that got a punishment after view bad games in elohell. They got the mark toxic and every game they got reported after that they got the attention of Riot.

Intentional feeding, refusal to communicate, and many other "aggressive" actions, are report-worthy. The aggressor will eventually get punished if their behavior continues. However, responding to this behavior with swears and insults is equally report-worthy.

Imagine this:

Player A is an inexperienced player who runs into turrets or 1v3s without knowing any better. Player B is a troll, who constantly runs down lanes and dies if things don't go their way. They have had multiple past restrictions. Player C is a self-defensive but otherwise normal player, who tries their best to do well.

1st game: Player A and Player C are on the same team. Player C gets irritated by Player A's behavior and calls them out on it, berating and sometimes insulting them whenever they die. Player A gets an MMR reduction, at best. Player C gets 0-2 reports and a 'warning' for unsportsmanlike conduct.

2nd game: Player B and Player C are on the same team. Player B does not get the role they wanted, and proceeds to feed enemy laners. Other players agree to report Player B, while Player C starts cussing and insulting Player B. Player B gets 5-8 reports, and likely gets a ban. Player C gets 1-3 reports and a chat restriction.

Punishments are not the result of one game. Warnings are accrued over time based on a player's behavior, regardless of inciting events. To avoid reports and any following punishment, one can't simply be a good player. They have to be sportsmanlike, restraining themselves from lashing out when situations like I have described present themselves.
