14 Day suspension?!

Ok, so, to start, I've never been suspended or had a chat suspension or anything like that ever before. I'm generally a very level headed reasonable person and in the last game that I played I started well and just had a run of a combination of bad decisions and bad luck and ended up getting destroyed along with the rest of my team, just a shitshow from like 5mins to 25mins. While this isn't my favorite it happens sometimes but our mid was just straight raging at me specifically for no particular reason since everyone was doing bad and being just insanely verbally abusive. Normally I just mute or ignore it but for whatever reason this time I flamed him back and recieved a 14 day suspension immediately afterwards...

Admittedly not my finest hour, but does ONE game of shitty behavior with someone flaming me like crazy and responding poorly result in a TWO WEEK suspension?! That seems pretty extreme given my past behavior of 0 behavioral problems and overall very supportive behavior and chat. Seems extremely overly sensitive and ridiculous. My gut tells me it's only because I used a sexual slur. To be perfectly honestly I don't think the way I behaved or responded was appropriate, but with no priors a 14 day seems completely ridiculous. Not that it matters but I just happen to be gay and call my friends %%%gots lol we don't take offense and it's just like saying idiot or anything else, it's just a word. I don't get it and I think the suspension is ridiculously out of line with the situation.

Definitely not. What's above would probably have just added a report to your pile (however big said pile is), but there was a further issue: your use of sexual slurs.

That's a fine opinion to have, but you need to be aware that that's just YOUR opinion. I have several friends of all sexual orientations who find this word incredibly inappropriate and offensive, and one of them could easily have been in your game. Keep that sort of language for situations where you KNOW you are only surrounded by people who are okay with it.

Also, even if you DO consider it less problematic than others do, you still definitely used it offensively when you said

Those comments are what escalated you to a 14-day ban. Riot considers them flatly unacceptable due to how many people take offense to them in ANY context of use. Sure, some don't -- but you have no way of knowing that. If anyone reports you for them, it's entirely on you.

Hate speech is heavily punished in this community, and most online communities. You can't call people that word around here, and your language and demeanor otherwise was pretty awful too.

Take this as a learning experience, and try not to repeat the same mistake.

Same. Never been slapped on the wrist before, but after being trolled all game by Udyr (anywhere but) top I got suspended. He was the mouthy one to start with and the whole team got on his shit for it. I called him a %%%got and clarified I that I meant %%%, not 'gay %%%'. Was that a step too far? Absolutely not, this kid deserves to have his nuts kicked into his teeth. Obviously I am steamed right now, but I'm usually a calm player so I can't imagine what prior offense ratcheted this sentence.

Anyways, this morning I was like "Let's play the new Rakan cause I love supporting a team" and now I'm all "Some violent extremism at Riot HQ would be the true lol"

You started off alright then you seemed to lose it. Do you have 2 more logs? If so, post them I'd like to see if you start all games trying to be fair and just get of the rails as the game goes on...Could you?

Let me try to be fair and say this now, I think of the 'pot calling the kettle black'. It seems to me like you are being the "overly sensitive" one once you got punished. Also, I don't believe in calling out slurs, Under Any circumstance. I don't buy the I'm a ... so I can call you a ... BS is what I call it.

Do You feel that you played and posted fairly to basically strangers? If they had posted the same to you would you be upset?

I don't think you should have been suspended. There is a mute function. Riot encourages us to use it. So if you find somebody offensive, mute them. There shouldn't even be a report or ban or suspension, this shouldn't even be a question. You whiney little children just cry your little hearts out everytime somebody speaks in chat.

No wonder this game is so fucking silent, the community is terrified of being banned for saying "GL HF" lest if offend the delicate sensibilities of one of you pussified neckbeard virgin eared rejects.

Firstly you have to axxept that you got banned. Like some of the players have got worst suspensions like me.... And secondly when i read the game chat i was disgusted by how many pussies are out there that are in the Rito-chain and are afraid to express their feelings..

Yup you said %%%got, that word tends to be a perma banner(you only got 14 days tho, thank god these aren't perma ban chat logs if you ask me), considering many players take offense to it and riot got into a lot of shit for all the hate speech that got(and still is getting past) the offensive language check. There is also some general whining but considering their stance on hate speech they ban people that use words like %%%got pretty much directly.

Riot games does this because having your community known as racist/sexist/homophobic tends to hurt the inflow of new players.

Also considering the context in which you used that word the second time it was not aimed at a friend, just because your friends don't have a problem with that doesn't mean every player shares that sentiment. Some people in this player base come from area's where words like that are nothing else then a pretty fucking heavy insult.

Honestly, you're kind of negative and I doubt I'd enjoy playing with you.

While I personally don't get offended by any words or insults whatsoever, there are those that do and Riot's automated system doesn't really care what the context or intention of certain words happens to be. You call someone a "fåggot" in game and you will get flagged with hate speech.

If what you're saying is true and you haven't ever been punished before (which I have heard countless times before on these Boards only to have a Rioter prove the individual wrong) then it is a harsh punishment. With that having been said, I'm guessing you won't use that word or act so negatively in your future games because if you do and any one reports you then you're going to get permabanned.
