getting notified when you get reported.

I think that If riot notified people each time they got a report, it would be much more effective to counter toxic behavior. So in the current system, you get reported maybe 3 games of being toxic, and then you get a punishment and they tell you what you did wrong. it's fine but I think that it's easy for a person to play three games in a row and be toxic without really realizing that they are harassing others and that it could result in a punishment. So if they got a message that they were reported, they would be able to keep themselves in check and not harass people in the next games, preventing them from being punished in the first place.

What are your thoughts? Would this be useful to prevent players from getting punished? Do you even want to help toxic players prevent their punishments? leave a comment below!

Edit: shout out yo YerroFever for his idea, that instead of getting notified when you get reported, you get notified about the game 1 and or game 2 instead of never being notified and suddenly getting punished for GAME 1, GAME 2, GAME 3 if they told you about GAME 1 and GAME 2, it would help you correct your ways before being punished.

You used to get a notification if you were reported too frequently, but it was removed because it felt bad for players whether they actually did something wrong or not because you can get reported a lot for behavior that isn't punishable, or reported for no reason at all. I thought it was a useful method to get people to tone it down before they needed to be punished, but Riot doesn't seem to agree (Riot Tantram stated that was his personal opinion on the matter at least).

nah, cause then it just discourages people who are simply and plainly getting trolled.

Or you know, just stop harassing at all... or works just as well, gain some self awareness.

I think if you got notified each time you got reported, then people could use that as a harassment tool and also ramp up the number of fake reports to actually filter through.

I think it's better to be notified when you've been found guilty of an infraction.

EDIT:

And by this I mean, instead of seeing "GAME 1" "GAME 2" "GAME 3" in your punishment, you are on notice when you hit game 1, and game 2, and game 3 significantly closer to when you actually harassed someone. Then when someone keeps up their behavior, they've gotten prior notice to the punishment and they'll be less surprised when they're punished.

The biggest complaint I've seen on the forums is that people feel blindisided by the punishment system because it takes so long for punishments to be handed out.

I got punished a few weeks ago for 1 game where I was mildly toxic (didn't insult teammates at all) and felt like I should have just gotten a warning. I had been playing league ALL DAY and was tired. A warning system would have had me been like "Alright I need to chill out". Instead I lost all my honor and went to honor 1 which honestly pisses me off. 1 bad game > rip 100s of good games

probably would be good as long as the notification is delayed a bit. otherwise the guy is going to turn around and report everyone to make sure they report the guy who got them

No that's pointless. I'm a nice person who doesn't flame and I get reported every other game. I imagine many others are in the same situation.

The only way that would work would be to have the system itself warn you. You know how the system can automatically punish you? Have it warn you too, if what you did wasn't really enough for a punishment but was enough for the system to notice.

The culture of blatantly false reports because of trolling premades would just make this a system to amplify the tilt from that.

I don't see why you shouldn't be notified when you get reported; what harm could it do?
