Chat Bans: Have they gone too far?

Recently got banned for saying a dude was 0/5 and 'the weak link on the team' (that was the extent of my 'toxic'). This is the weakest and most indefensible chat ban Ive ever encountered. It is akin to George Orwell's 1984 novel. I was told by the support team to 'say something nice or dont say anything at all'. What is this, kindergarten? I get there's super toxic people on here just trolling for sport that need to be curbed, but COME ON RITO.

Has anyone else seen an increase in chat patrols and seemingly undeserved suspensions?

I think its time people started using the MUTE button instead of riot banning/restricting people. It works perfectly fine in other games.

Post your chat logs.

In addition to what Król Wilk Sam said above (without chat logs we can't really comment), I'd like to raise this point for discussion:

You said someone was "the weak link on the team."

  1. How is this meaningfully different from "you're the worst player on our team" or "you're bad" or "you cost us the game?"
  2. Assuming it IS meaningfully different, what does the community as a whole game from allowing this sort of comment towards a teammate?

Yeahhhhh, hate to say it dude, but you shouldn't call people the weakest link. It's a funny old gameshow, but it's really not funny to call someone.

Granted, I've probably (definitely) said worse, and never gotten chat banned, soooo either not your first time, or you said more than that.

In kindergarten, it's sorta expected that children havn't learned how to act around people yet.

You're expected to be better than a kindergartner.
