Chat Bans: Have they gone too far?

Recently got banned for saying a dude was 0/5 and 'the weak link on the team' (that was the extent of my 'toxic'). This is the weakest and most indefensible chat ban Ive ever encountered. It is akin to George Orwell's 1984 novel. I was told by the support team to 'say something nice or dont say anything at all'. What is this, kindergarten? I get there's super toxic people on here just trolling for sport that need to be curbed, but COME ON RITO.

Has anyone else seen an increase in chat patrols and seemingly undeserved suspensions?

I think its time people started using the MUTE button instead of riot banning/restricting people. It works perfectly fine in other games.

I dont know how but I chatted online with support and the inciting excerpt they gave me was: [10:19] Uncle Bomo (Morgana): aurelion sol is the weak link [10:29] Uncle Bomo (Morgana): 0/5 [10:31] Uncle Bomo (Morgana): pretty clear and this was after my team had all been ragging on him WAY harder than i was, saying all sorts of 'ban him omfg mid feed' etc etc etc. he wasnt costing us the game but he was definitely tilting our team by inting - normally i wouldnt point such things out but my team was livid and very tilted ive had bad games before, and people told me i was doing bad, which i accepted and corrected.. if you dont like what someone is saying why cant you just mute them (which i have done, problem solved). if you cant accept that youre doing bad, why even play? how will you ever get better? i know what i said isnt exactly constructive ctiricism but its definitely not a restrictable/bannable offense AT ALL.

In addition to what Król Wilk Sam said above (without chat logs we can't really comment), I'd like to raise this point for discussion:

You said someone was "the weak link on the team."

How is this meaningfully different from "you're the worst player on our team" or "you're bad" or "you cost us the game?"
Assuming it IS meaningfully different, what does the community as a whole game from allowing this sort of comment towards a teammate?
