LGBT Issue in game

psychieå·9/3/2018, 5:20:32 AM·3 votes·2,854 views

i joined a clan/group (im 2 weeks new to game) so I now have the LGBT tag next to my name. During a game (i'm level 16) one of my team mates said. "LGBT?" I said yeah. He replied are you a guy? I didn't answer. He said.. are you gay.. I said nonya and a few other words... He responded with well dont come near me or touch me. I muted him. After game I reported him and he told me he reported me for being gay on him... smh. I have had to report about a dozen people in the past week for all kinds of harrassing things. I have never ever ever played a game with so much anger and hatred. Is this common? why does this happen and do reports ban people? what happens when someone gets reported? Thanks

It takes some effort to expand your LGBT issues onto a videogame like league. Good job, you did it. Clap-clap. Ten rainbow flags out if ten and a seal of approval. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

this is common in all online games, but just taking the tag off or simply passing it off as a joke tag will solve this problem of yours

With regards to wat that derp said to u, hes just straight trolling u and i commend u for being numb to his idiocy. Unfortunately if thats litterally all he sais to u its not to harsh of harassment to warrent a chat ban or 14 day ban. That is unless he started using slurs at u.

U did the right thing for muting, as to why people do this. The same reason why people intentionally feed. The same reason people ninja looted back in vanilla wow. The same reason why people purposely jump off the map in ranked overwatch. The same reason why people swat atreamers.

People are idiots, people are mean, and most importantly people are sadiats who want to get a reaction. The degree in which it occurs in each person varies but humans are just jerks like that no matter where u go.

As for the report system.

The IFS (automated report thingie) is in place to pick up and ban people for using exceedingly heinous speech, aka slurs of any kind whether they be sexual or racial, and some other exceedingly distasteful stuff. If someone is reported and the IFS see that they said a trigger word, its usually a chat ban or 14 day ban depending on how much of a jerk they are. What should be noted is that 1 report=9 so asking for reports does nothing. 1 is all it takes for the game to be flagged. Once flagged he systema locks onto the player and if it finds that the reports were made in ernest (usually after 1-3 gamea or so of beong reported) it issues a punishment.

For things like behavioral trolling, the IFS cant do those since its hard for a ai to tell between legit trolling and someone just having a bad game. But it still flags the game for manual review, so if they are trolling they will be punished, it just may take longer.

Overall, keep muring the derps and try to enjoy playing. Some idiot on the internet shouldnt effect your day, so juat keep staying the bigger person mah dude :3

Also dont hide ur tag. Do wat u want, cuz ur better than randos on the ibternet who wanna pull a negative reaction from u :3

While i do not agree with the flame directed to LGBTIQCAPGNGFNBA people. But why would you even use this as a tag in an online game?

If i write "binary cis white male" as my tag, i would get probably commented by SJWs and other stuff. Why do you even advertise it? I mean, this is an online game, nobody cares about who you are. By using this tag you just bait people to do this to you (i still do not agree with the flame), i just dont understand why LGBTIQCAPGNGFNBA people have to advertise how LGBTIQCAPGNGFNBA they are. I mean, i've never seen heteros running around saying how heteros they are O.o

Didn't you learn that you just need to ignore the trolls and haters?

His goal was to hurt you, and you let him succeed.

In regards how the system works, it punishes people based on consistency x severity. When someone is reported, the system will review the game and assign a toxicity grade (0% for no toxicity, 100% for severe toxicity). Think of it like a leveling system, everytime they are toxic, it adds to their toxicity level. Minor toxicity within the game will add a bit to their toxicity meter, and severe toxicity will add a large amount of toxicity points to their meter. When they reach 100%, they'll get punished.

The review process is the same regardless of how many reports a person recieves, so it is pointless to ask for reports.

For verbal offenses, there are 4 tiers of punishment.

  1. 10 game chat restriction
  2. 25 game chat restriction
  3. 14-day ban
  4. Permaban

In the low level games, many of the games are filled with people whom got their accounts 14-day banned or permabanned, they start a new account to continue playing but they haven't reformed, so they are just as toxic. We call this a pocket of toxicity and it gets much better once you get out of the pocket.

Alas, welcome to Player Behavior. This is just the basics of the system, there is much more to the system than this alone. Feel free ask more questions.

well, what were you trying to accomplish by wearing a tag that says LGBT? i mean, by wearing that tag, you were clearly attempting to obtain some kind of special attention.. not that everyone who is LGBT is seeking attention, but considering how important and influential that tag is, it's obviously going to bring special attention atm.. if you are LGBT why feel the need to flair it around? i know lots of people who are LGBT and they aren't all in your face about it, as a matter of fact, many of them are tired of it being so main stream atm because it draws unwanted attention to them.. i'm an ordained minister and i preform LGBT weddings, because i live in the bible belt, and its hard for LGBT people to find ministers who will agree to marry them, and i believe that love is love, so i go ahead and do it for them, free of charge.. one of the biggest issues i come across, is when people make a huge deal about it being LGBT, when the two people getting married just want to get married, they don't want it to be a whole political/social thing..

maybe stop drawing attention to yourself, and you wont get this kind of negative attention.. or maybe you just have a victim complex and wanna be a victim, in which case, keep doing what you're doing, cause you're receiving the results you wanted.

Why do you care? If you muted then you don't have a problem anymore, just ignore them.

That's not anger and hatred :/ they're just messing with you. Anger and hatred are pretty extreme emotions. That was a display of silly ignorant insensitive banter. Not hatred.

Some people just like to be mean. If someone accumulates enough reports they either get chat restricted or temp banned. Further transgressions result in a perma ban.
