I just played a game with a guy who had the N word in his name - I can report people for racism sexism and homophobia but SOMEHOW you guys let people get away with having a slur in your actual PLAYER NAME - i think that's really dumb. you guys need a word filter
Last I checked, there's an option for Inappropriate Name in the report menu.
Agree with OP. I've run into very offensive player names that have been level 30 for eons.
Just report them after the match, Riot does catch up with these kids eventually.
I've seen players with "whitey" and "cracker" in their name... I always report them for offensive language. You can report them after the game in the post-match statistics screen if you consider their name to be inappropriate. If you think it is unacceptable you should report them too.
I also report all forms of sexism as well; People that have names that reference "killAllMen" or anything remotely resembling misandric/feminist behavior, are reported after game. Remember that you are doing a service to the community by reporting behavior that is in violation of the summoner code. Don't worry so much about the "Contradiction" as long as you bring it to the attention of Riot, they will take action as they see fit.
The system is very efficient, take it easy and quietly report those people before moving on.
Well I looked at your match history, and I have to agree that guy should have his name changed. I would definitely report him after, I don't know why he was allowed that name in the first place. Seems like the filter missed this one.
well thats good to know - i didnt know there was already a filter in place - the last thing i want to say is that, to anyone reading this that has a player name like that, have some self respect and show some class. i really doubt that this guy was actually racist in real life so why put it in a username? really. show some class
Offensive/Inappropriate name is a report category the same way hate speech is.

dont you think that its a little bit non sensical to allow people to report players for racism and yet they still allow them to use slurs in their name? i am not offended at all to be honest, i just think that in my video games, i would prefer that racial slurs not be allowed in an actual player name - riot, by allowing people to report racism sexism and homophobia has taken a stance on those issues - they deem it inappropriate - granted, the guy didnt say a single racist thing all game, he didnt say anything at all in fact other than gg - it doesnt take away from that fact that there is a huge contradiction here - you can call me a bitch all you want but i think riot should do something about this and that gamers should hold themselves to a higher standard than that - thats my PSA for now
