Okay so Riot? Your tribunal system isn't working. People can be as toxic as they want, and still report me for being angry. I was just harassed all game by a Jax. People are constantly harassing people no matter what, your tribunal system isn't working at all. Even if it's based off of how many games you get reported for. I could say one word and get reported just like that, because someone disagrees with my opinion. It's happened before, it's not surprising. Thanks for allowing me to play your game. Hopefully I can recover my account, thanks Riot. Bye. If only there was evidence of what Jax said to even trigger me.

UPDATE: Riot employees sent me what seemed like an automated message and listened to nothing I've said. This is all they had to say completely ignoring everything I said..

I am glad to inform you that they fail to realize that I have been reported and gotten banned/chat restrictions for asking someone to do something in the game NICELY. They fail to realize how faulty their tribunal is and refuse to do anything to fix it. Players still can simply report someone for asking them to do something. People can report you even if you haven't said a thing and Riot still manages to fit time in to ban you for it.

You should look up the terms Hate speech and Hate crime to get an accurate definition as to what it is before you start labeling people's actions with absurd judgments.

Again. You should look up the TERM Hate speech and crime before associating that term to people you don't even know.

If I can have homosexual friends and family members use that word without a sweat or care in the world (because CONTEXT) then other people should be given the same chance to explain themselves.

No, because the argument over whether or not the term can be reclaimed is not relevant to the discussion. As it is considered hate speech by RIOT and the majority of the LGBT community, it is hate speech under TOS and treated as such. I'm not a fascist, but please, keep trying to defend a bigot.

It is entirely relevant to the discussion. I don't care what unruly rules Riot has in place, if they are non-nonsensical, I won't follow them. If they tell me to jump off a bridge, I won't do it.

There isn't any point in mentioning the LGBT community if you are reluctant to address the context in an IRL situation. It is not hate speech, but can be seen as hate speech. It is up to those who have authority to decide whether or not the person intended it as such. To automatically assume so is bigoted and yes, fascist.

If you think otherwise, you might want to try and redefine bigotry.

3 Vulgar words and one is considered extremely offensive. you use words like that the system will be punishing you. Also the sheer amount of chat inputs is a red flag to the system. Calling people kiddos all game and asking for 1v1 makes you look like a toxic idiot.

What other people do or say is irrelevant to your behavior. Report them and move on, they will be punished if they did something bad. You only get yourself in trouble by arguing with them.

To be clear, swearing is fine on the boards and in the game. It's only in the context of an insult that it's against the rules.

would love to know why i got my 3 game restriction for "my bad i was a dumb fuck sorry" if not squarely for the swear word ive only played bots and it was praobly when i coulda saved a player but couldn't. i dont remember the circumstance sense its been so long and from what a freind of mine who tuaght me this game said ive been very careful not to get a report becuase of how ban happy the clown lyte is

Wasn't hate speech, didn't use it to offend anyone. Didn't even direct it to Jax. Wasn't even in all chat at that point. There was no argument among my three friends and one random in the game. The only thing I could have possibly gotten banned for is one thing, "dumbass" the one thing I said to Jax that was rude at all.

"fucking [homophobic slur]" is hate speech, whether or not you were directing it at someone in particular. That was absolutely part of what got you banned.

To be perfectly clear, this isn't an argument or a debate. That's not my interpretation of events; they are facts. That sort of language is super offensive, whether you like it or not, and factored into your punishment, whether you like it or not. Find another way to express yourself that doesn't involve hateful language.

First off, Lyte didn't ban him, the system did. Second, the hate speech is what made the direct escalation to a permaban happen. If you don't realize that's how it works, you probably got banned yourself and are just being salty. [slayer-jinx-wink]

must have dialed it back then cause my friend had a screen shot of lyte saying its both kinda mad he deleted it he really hate ssthi game but gets lazy about cleaning so i ended up giving him a reason to delete even though i asked he still wouldn't do it.

Was I directing it to anyone? Is it a word? Does it always have to be used to offend someone? Does it always have to be used offensively, can words not be used for the reason they were made? Saying something you disagree with isn't "disgusting". It's a word, that wasn't used to offend anyone. There was no context. I was playing with 3 other friends, that wasn't even in all chat. There is no reason to rally behind one phrase that wasn't even offensive. But whatever, maybe you'll realize how the English language works some day.

The word itself is offensive as it's been used to describe people in a derogatory manner for decades, much like many words describing people's race. Whether or not your intention was to offend, it is in fact offensive, and RIOT has made clear on many occasions that they consider it Hate Speech and it is not tolerated.

It's not helpful when you can't see what the other person has said.

Most people here are under 15 I'm assuming, so you're not going to get their support. No offense, but they've been babied to death in their overt-sensitivity.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and also assume that many of us have said the words, "fgts, f**king or sht" more than we would like to admit. Hate speech? Don't even go there. It's the context. If you think that's hate speech, well my my, just wait until reality smacks you right in the face.

I've heard homosexuals use that word around me, and I live in a community where it's quite common to be gay. The rational ones have absolutely no problem with that word being used and even go so far as to use it themselves when describing someone else because it's all about context.

Let's not pretend to be law-abiding citizens that haven't broken any moral code whatsoever. (Sorry young teenagers, you're not as perfect as you think you'll be). Retaliation is not okay. Sure. I agree, to an extent. But provocation (extreme provocation) is not acceptable either, nowhere near as acceptable as retaliation, even outside of a video game. Example: You call someone a racial slur in an intentionally harmful way, at the minimum it was once, but you went on and on (to the point where the person could probably file a restraining order against you) and now that person has either A. Told you to "fk off" or B. Knocked you on the floor. Now option A is quite normal, but for some reason, that's punishable (probably due to the automatic system). Option B can get the person in trouble, but we wouldn't be hating on them as much as we hate on people for retaliating online.

Why is that? It's because we all know that the people who start it, wouldn't have started it to begin with. It would have never escalated to that situation if it weren't for the safety of non-confrontational insults.

Should retaliation always be allowed? Well, yes and no. It depends on the situation. It's not black and white like the majority here wants or thinks it to be. Chat logs should be recorded and stored. They should be open to public so that we can come to a more accurate decision than an automated robot that picks up key words and whatnot.

The boards should be a place of actual reformation for those who might end up slipping up into the vortex of toxicity that seems to occur almost every game. It shouldn't be a place of double or triple punishment where you spit on those who have failed to abide by your standards, because according to you morally sound folk, that is in a sense, retaliation.

Rather than dwelling on your ban, take some time away and reflect. Not just on what you said, but why you said it and how you can keep yourself from speaking too scathingly in the future.

A month later after my own ban, and I'm here advising people like you on how to best move forward. I feel a bit better doing so, even if it doesn't quite fill the void left by losing an account.
