I understand giving people a time penalty because of not banning a champ or not selecting one. LP loss though? Like really. More than half the time it's cause your client lags and then I get kicked and lose LP. Its dumb. I can wait, whatever, but your taking LP when you really shouldn't. Not selecting a champ doesn't make your team lose much less not banning. The game hasn't even started. It's quite annoying. One issue and the client screws up and then you punish me cause off of technical issues when there isn't even real cause for LP loss.

If they didn't penalize LP the system would be exploited. A part of rank games is the champion selection and bans, you can counter and get countered during that phase of the game. A player would simply dodge if he felt his team was in disadvantage and wait 5min to get into another Q.

Ya pretty much what guenu said. Everytime I go mid I'm like first or second pick, leaving me open to get countered. This results in me dodging sometimes. If I didn't lose LP I'd probably be even more cautious with the counters and Dodge more often. Also, client lag fucks you up that bad? You have 30 seconds to ban don't you? Might wanna try reinstalling your client.

I can understand that, I really do. Then again there is a difference in purposely dodging and just lagging out. They should be able to tell the difference. Much less when your internet is perfectly fine. Everything else is working but the client back to back lags me out and connects after I should ban or pick. Reinstalling the client does nothing seeing as most of their errors are on them and Riot can never seem to fix any of them apparently. The point is flawed when they tell me i'm afk so kick me when yet i'm staring directly at my screen waiting for their server to just load something very simple. Infuriating is a mild way of putting it.
