Got 14 day suspension for saying f.a.g.g.o.t

I just finished my promos for Plat 5 and immediately I got 14 day suspension so I went to check to see what I did and all i did was say the word "f.a.g.g.o.t" in all chat. Which I didn't even mean to be homophobic or what not. The only reason why I said "f.a.g.g.o.t" was cause the enemy bard been diving under turret and counter jg me all game. So after I die by him the 4th time, the 5th time he got greedy and died by me so I said "f.a.g.g.o.t" as in a way to trash talk to him for being greedy. I don't think anyone was offended by this and didn't mean to be offensive to anyone I was just relieved after finally getting my revenge on the enemy bard. I'm hoping anyone from riot would review this.

There’s a zero tolerance policy on hate speech, which is why you were given a 2 week ban. This punishment is unlike to be overturned.

If you want a review by Riot Open a Ticket to the support, but i can save you time. They wont lift it. Riot has a 0 tolerance policy towards racism/homophobic/hatespeech. The f-word is on the same Level as the n-word.

Be glad it's only 14 days. Riot is really hardcore when policing certain words. Avoid any slurs/banter in the future. I don't like it either, but it's Riot's game so nothing we can do about it.

You used a derogatory term to insult someone. What did you expect was going to happen? Just because you aren't calling a gay person a F word, doesn't mean you aren't using a homophobic slur...

Just because it is a derogatory term doesn't mean it was meant to be homophobic. Alot of words be the same but have different meanings. For example gay can mean happy or it can mean sexual feelings to the same gender. The point is that it all depends on the context of the word.

So... just because you don't intend to call a black person the N word and don't intend it to be racist, doesn't mean you aren't using a racist slur? You don't have to intend to be racist to be using a racist slur. Same thing with the F word. Just because you aren't calling a gay person the F word, doesn't mean you aren't using a homophobic slur. You can call a straight person the F word and still be using a homophobic slur. Your intent doesn't matter on WHY you said what you did. You are being punished for WHAT you said.

This isn't some kind of intentional reclaiming of the word. You are using it as an insult. You already said you called someone the F word because they dove you.

You aren't trash talking people by calling them the F word. If you think that kind of talk equates to trash talking, you should go through the forums and look at how many people disagree with you and understand that trash talking isn't what you think it is.

You clearly intended the F word to be in a negative context and you are being punished appropriately.

Others have said enough about why already so I won't go into that.

But keep in mind that after a 14-day ban you're on super thin ice, any punishable behavior at all will result in the next punishment, which just so happens to be a permanent ban.

Be really careful not to say things that could make people want to report you. You don't want to give the system an excuse to review your behavior, because even if you weren't wrong for saying what you said that got you reported, you could have said other things that warrant punishment that the system will still detect.

In other words, the only things that matter are the things you care about.

It is hatespeech. It is the definition of hatespeech. Most players do not want it in the game, including me.

If I said I am a f.a.g.g.o.t " I would still get banned. How I was banned was completely taken out of context and I'm hoping they fix their shitty system because people can get away with calling people autistic and int and overall just ruin your game but if you say specific words you get instant banned no matter the reason

Well Yeah, Riot games has their policies About homophobia etc... But it is downright idiotic. i Am currently in a similar situation Where riot banned me for 14 days for saying ”%%%land”, ignoring that I wrote ”%%% as in ciggarettes”. They consider me homophobic for using a Word that at least Here in the UK has multiple Meanings. Providing proof and arguing for My Cause got me to ”What matters is the general perception”. Just face it mate, riot games Doesn’t care About it’s community as it is, Only for What They want it to be
