MY LEAGUE OF LEGENDS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED

I Will Annie·1/1/2016, 6:07:30 AM·152 votes·33,307 views

Hello everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful day! My name is Alex. I have been playing League of Legends since February and I really enjoy it (at least until now). Today, I write this post, first of all, to tell you about my problem. Then I would love to see what you think and hope it can be fixed. Few days ago, I logged into to my League of Legends client. Unfortunately, I was not able to do it. There was a notification showed up and said that my account had been permanently suspended. What? Really!!? I did not do anything wrong. Why did I get banned? I had to access to my email which was associated with this account for more information to figure it out. Guess what? I could not access to it either. I was worried. I could not know what exactly my issue was until I asked my friend. He told me to try logging into the Riot Repayments website and see whether or not my account had been suspended due to a purchase dispute (a "chargeback"). He was right! I had a total outstanding balance of $200.00 USD. I was very surprised. I had not made any purchase recently. Afterwards, I logged into my bank account. Nothing was suspicious. I started to think. There must be someone who knew the password, logged into my League of Legends account, used his / her (or even someone else's) credit cards to purchase RP illegally, then a bank requested a chargeback (Luckily, my password was not changed). I was confused. What was happening? I know that I must be fully responsible for all activities made on my account, but it is unacceptable that I have to pay Riot for what someone did illegally. I did send Riot a ticket to request an email replacement and account recovery. I was very unsatisfied and disappointed. My email could not be change. My account is still blocked. What should I do for now? Quit playing? Or pay in full the total outstanding balance before my account can be unlocked? Anyway, this is just my thinking, my feeling. Everything I said above is a truth. I am not lying. I hope people who is experiencing this issue will understand how I am now. Thank everyone for spending time reading throughout my post. I wish you best luck in the Field of Justice! Sincerely yours, Alex P/s: HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone who reads my post today! Wishing you a year filled with great joy peace and prosperity. Have A Wonderful Year Ahead Happy New Year!!!

Wow...I wasn't expecting a legit reason to be upset your account got suspended. I thought it was another "I got banned for being toxic but it's not my fault" type thing. That's unfortunate idk what to do in this situation sorry I'm not of any help I guess the best you can do is the ticket which you've already done If you didn't cause the balance of $200 don't pay til you get to the bottom of how it happened. If you didn't have that many champs/skins or that much time invested into the account it's a sucky solution but you could probably start a new account thats probably not the best way though. Hope everything gets cleared up for you

I'm curious as to why you can't access your email account... That sounds worse than just some LoL purchases. You probably need to contact whoever handles that account and try to get that stuff sorted out.

I say try to keep contacting Riot until you get someone who can fix your issue, as well as your bank to see if you can add anymore security measures to your account. ^-^

Umm, you really should be requesting information about the nature of the bank records used (not specifically, but ways that should identify you). If your account was stolen to purchase things...does that mean you have access to things otherwise unpaid? How could you NOT notice extra items/champions/stuff in your account?

Or...probably more likely, was the purchases for gifts to other people? Do you know these people? Riot has preventative measures against gifting stuff to brand new "friends", so what kind of friends do you have?

If anything, I'd side with RIOT and say you have to pay up, unless you "bought" gifts to people who you never played with or know. It's a sad reality, but RIOT can't just assume every liar is telling the truth.

~ Anyways, I hope you can see how to address the issue, assuming you didn't try to scam RIOT.

EDIT: THE POINT HERE IS YOU NEED TO REQUEST AND SEARCH FOR MORE INFORMATION, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO ASK RIOT IS SIMPLY DROP CHARGES. NOT ONLY WILL IT MAKE RIOT MORE LIKELY TO HELP YOU, BUT YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO DISCOVER THE NATURE OF THE THEFT.

how sad... they could refund what the hacker did... then you can get your account back... is that hard?

Gregor Gysi1/1/2016, 12:20:34 PM3 votes

So.. Someone somehow hacked your account, logged in, bought RP through credit card fraud, didn't play a game/act suspicious at all, you did not realize anything was wrong, you did not realize that you have skins/RP worth of 200$ and you don't have anything to do with that.. Did I get that right?

AbyssionKnight1/1/2016, 3:42:08 PM3 votes

Ultimately you have to convince them it wasn't you that made the purchase. Contact player support and ask them if they can look into whether or not the credit card was yours, and to check the ip used for the supposed ip purchase.

If the card was not your normal card, and if the acount was not used in your area, then you might be able to convince them.

If however the owner of that card did not approve the purchase, and your account was used at your ip address or locally, then you may be out of luck.

Yeah. Just keep asking and asking and asking for answers and other assorted queries like that. If Riot doesn't respond, or even your bank if you decide to contact them, that is unacceptable on their part. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate scenario. Keep pushing for an answer and it'll get around to you. Can't ignore the squeaky door hinge forever can you? Happy New Year pal, and I hope that this gets sorted out.

You should find whoever did this, and bash their face in with a frying pan.

Something almost happened to me. Someone hacked my email and used that to steal my LoL account and my paypal account. Luckily my paypal wasnt yet associated with my bank and I dont save credit cards for future use for this exact reason. So, I got lucky. I don't recommend anyone saving their credit cards.

LetsGoRidePandas1/1/2016, 9:40:42 PM3 votes

If you can, either try to find out what was purchased, or ask riot to look into that. If it was too your own account, ask for a mass refund. If it was gifted to someone else, I think you found your actual culprit

Sammystorm1/2/2016, 3:18:05 AM3 votes

try sending tickets until you get a real person. Riot CS is notoriously bad.

Sythriel Draken1/2/2016, 6:16:25 AM3 votes

I really hope you get your account back. My dealings with riot support have been one good interaction getting the youtube skin, and several "Go fuck yourself" responses. Happy new year to you as well.

I got banned once, I started over, placed in a higher division, once my ban was over I now have 2 accounts with totally different champ pools and mmrs. So if I feel like noob stomping I go onto my "main(more champs/runes) or if I feel competitive I go onto my (higher mmr but less champs) account. It may not be the worse thing to start a new account if you wish to keep playing. I have spent well over 100$ on each account.

If Riot won't solve this for no reason, then you can sue them, to be honest.

The Quinndred1/1/2016, 8:52:43 PM2 votes

Hope you get to the bottom of this issue.

Tearin True1/1/2016, 3:00:44 PM2 votes

I'm confused. Why would anyone log into your account to purchase things for you with a credit card he/she does not own? What was the motive of the thief? It was not their account so they gained nothing except to get you suspended.

Could it be that someone meaning well, like a parent, logged in to buy things and thought they spent $20 (Christmas gift) and when the credit card showed a charge of $200 they refuted the charge?

Rezzet1/2/2016, 6:10:50 AM2 votes

check out malwarebytes , do a full scan ,then try to recover your email, unfortunetly Riot cant help you as usually they send all procedures and links needed to your email , without it you cant confirm where the illegal transaction came from nor from whom and such , you're pretty much stuck without your email info , if i were you i would worry over my email security over my LoL account as a priority as it stands even if riot unsuspends you you'll just end up back in square one or worse with money actually stolen and your account sold or something .

also how did you not notice 200$ worth of skins unlocked into your game all of a sudden if you have been playing the game all year ?

Hard Penetrator1/1/2016, 3:53:17 PM2 votes

You don't have any code verification? Through bank own code scrap or sms notifcation? Check your credit card balance (anything extra to pay off?). I don't really think your bank account got hacked. Some game clients remember pervious purchase details and charge last used account this type of payment usually have some security (at worst its only card cvc and so on)

First of all change your passes on pretty much every email you use, track what type of payment this person used, write ticket to RIot support and call your bank. The issue isn't 200$ right now but if this "person" can actually steal money from your account.

Good luck, and you may want to clean your pc in case it isn't a person you actually know.

RyzeRework1/1/2016, 10:12:48 AM2 votes

Sharing accounts is a permanent ban automatically so if somone has access to your account your banned period.

I don't want to get too involved but notice how this guy is completely avoiding questions about his E-mail account and how he didn't notice that he had shit that he didn't pay for.

I remember a while ago, back in the old forums, that there was this guy who kept on making threads about him being suspended for the same reason and eventually a Rioter answered him on both the forums and reddit that they had history of access from both his Mastercard and some debit card during said purchases which meant that he, himself had to have done it or another relative.

Turned out the guy was a con-artist and was using a loophole in the banks to try and pay for skins/champions and got caught so then he tried to plead with the community for sympathy.

Just my 2 cents.

Go and ask riot a their support page. https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us ( you can also click the "SUPPORT" bottom at the top of this page. Anyways, I suggest you run an antivirus scan with a proper anti-malware (I recommend malware bytes or avira).
