Sorry, This Is Goodybye

Hello, fellow League of Legends players, I am writing this lengthy message, or letter, out to you to notify that I am quitting indefinitely. I have played this game for what would be four years next season. I was permanently banned a few days ago for Toxicity, and I would like to apologize for that, if you have ever played with or against me. (I will list my IGNs at the end). I had a plan to address those in matches where I had flamed a considerable amount, but Riot will not let me see the logs, unfortunately. So, this will have to do:

"I am sorry. Not only to those I've played with, but those I've faced. We all play the same game and at different levels, and it was my fault for me to put you down for not playing up to my standards. Each year, my enjoyment overall with this game dwindled further and further. With how this season was overall and the changes I heard that they were making next, I guess I just popped. With personal things happening with my life and the game changing so much, I took the stress out on my fellow players, and that isn't right. So, I'm sorry."

For those thinking: "You didn't quit, you were banned." Yes I was banned, but once I made a new account out of anger, I stopped and asked myself, "what's the point?". That. Right there, is what decided this for me, those three words. Not only does the competitiveness of this game eat away at me, but I just wasn't having fun anymore. I started off, so excited to play League, happy to get better, meet people, and to overall, just have fun, but near the end, it felt like a job, a chore I had to do. I would just go into autopilot. Sit down, open league, play, go to bed, after school, of course. It just felt as if something was holding me to it, to me, there was.

The money I invested into this game, being roughly $800USD, was a lot for me, especially since 80% of my $300 paychecks went towards this game for skins and the new gambling mini-casino that is the chest system. Once I received the permanent ban and calmed down, I realized this was a blessing, I was free, finally free. And all I can say to Riot is: "Thank you. Even though you annoyed me so much in the past, thank you for this."

Riot is nowhere near the perfect company, and I think they can admit that. They are doing very well, especially for a Free-To-Play game, but they also have faults. Some worse than others (like what the hell is Ashe's R even, the hitbox is the size of a cruise ship), but that's besides the point. Thank you Riot, I'm a thorn that needed to be plucked. Now you're free of the reports against me, and I'm free of my addiction.

I don't hate league of legends, I don't. I think it's a wonderful game like World of Warcraft. If I ever had the opportunity to work for Riot, I don't care what it would be, I would take it, even if it was a janitorial position. I love this game and I love the staff that helped make it and continue to work on it. Thank you, all of you for these four years. They were great, and I'm sorry it had to end like this.
