Just read the FAQ for end of season rewards, not cool riot

TLDR: Honor takes way too long to grind out when one bad game can reset you to absolute zero, and I really don't think its fair to withhold rewards that were worked on for over a year over a couple of bad games.

I play this game a lot, always have, since 2013. I have never even had a chat ban until this season. I am very calm and collected in 99% of my games, but I admittedly lost my cool a couple times this year when people were being excessively toxic in my games. I know Riot will just say, "You can't tell someone to fuck off, just report them at the end of the game" but that's just not what ended up happening. I am sure most of you can relate to having that one player in your game that just won't stop flaming everyone, spamming the forfeit, etc. It gets really irritating and sometimes it is difficult to not get sucked into their B.S.

I have been working really hard since my chat ban to rebuild my honor but it takes forever, over a month for just one checkpoint, and now I read the discord to find out that no matter what I do I will never reach honor 2 in time. Honestly I couldn't even care less about the orianna skin or chromas, I just want the loading screen border. I know it sounds stupid , but for a lifetime hardstuck silver player, that Gold border meant something to me. I get honored and stay positive in so many games and all that means nothing for less then 1% of my games and that is just not right. The season lasts way too long, and the ranked grind takes way too much effort to have it all mean nothing because of a few bad moments. Not to mention the thousands of dollars I have given riot over the years. I have been a loyal fan, and advocate of the game, and sportsmanship within the game for over 5 years so it really sucks for Riot to do me like this.

Sure. Everyone's had this. Mute, report, play on. This isn't a good reason to engage in behavior that you, as a long time player, know isn't okay.

Also -- and I know this is frustrating for a long-time player like you -- NET behavior doesn't really matter, because people have shifts in toxicity. What matters is net toxic behavior OVER a period of games. If you're great for 99% of your history but your last five games have been problematic, then a punishment is appropriate because your behavior is changing for the worse.

Fun fact: In previous years, before the Honor prerequisite was put in place for end of season rewards, you could still lose end of season rewards just for having an active punishment by the cutoff date.

If you're having slow progress with Honor, you may want to look at your behavior and see if you can't improve.

Money, play time, and advocacy do not factor into your Honor. Your behavior does.

We can. The majority of us know to mute and report them, though, instead of feeding into their flame and starting a flamewar.

they're changing the way the border works next year anyway. it's not a season reward anymore, it changes as you rank up.

Riot has withheld rewards for unsportsmanlike behavior for years.

Previous years, if you've gotten a 14-day ban within 3 months of season end or if you have an active chat restriction during season end, you won't get your rewards.

It's actually fair this way. Players won't get away with toxic behavior at the start of the year and still get theirvreqards at the end of the year.

Btw, did you know that they announced that ranked rewards at the start of the season? They also announced it on 2 blogs throughout the mid season and then again around 2 months and 1 month before the season.
