Damn why did you have to call for reports on him? That's considered provoking and is a punishable offense in itself. So your report against him actually hurts yourself because you tried to get other people to gang up on him. Next time just report it yourself. It doesn't matter how many people report him, so there's literally ZERO reason to call for reports, other than to piss him off... which is considered toxic.

There's a couple different things that could be going on here:

  • If the player hasn't had a prior punishment, but is close to earning their first, they may only be issued a chat restriction, in which case, you would only see evidence of it if you were playing in game with them and they happened to say they could only post X amount of messages.
  • If the player was reported by more than one person and you weren't the last one, it's possible that one of the other players received the pop-up alert. Only the last player to report someone will see the pop-up.
  • If the player hasn't had any prior punishments and doesn't have a significant history of negative behavior, they may not be close enough to the punishment threshold to be punished based on one game. Riot does tend to give players the benefit of the doubt, and while these logs are fairly bad, and I would assume/guess that this player is probably fairly negative in general, I could be wrong. He may just be having a bad game. And if he's not like this often, then it's possible that he hasn't been negative enough to earn a punishment. Punishments are based more on a percentage of negative games than an actual number of them. Players who have played a ton of matches, and haven't been toxic in the vast majority of them, tend to need a couple more games of negativity before they will be punished than a newer player/account will.

You'd both be reported and possibly punished. The other player for flaming and you for instigating. You shouldn't have these chat logs because you had no reason to call for reports and you should have muted them from the start.

Riot can see pre/post game chat.

What he says is punishable, and so is your asking for reports.

Riot Husker (EUW) - 8 months ago Hey all. I don't specifically work on the team that deals with reports, but hopefully I can provide some clarity.

To address point one of the OP - Calling for others to report a player is a punishable offense. It is a form of bullying and as such is against the summoner code. It should always be a personal decision for each player as to whether or not they feel another player warrants a report. In fact, do feel free to tell your team mates that "report calling" in itself counts as harassment. Flaming and bullying a player will never help them to improve their game mechanics, communication etc. Take five minutes to add someone and talk to them after game. Perhaps do some customs to help them learn a champion, or how to gank or how to use vision.

To the second point of the OP - Don't worry about how many reports a player receives at the end of a given game. What's important is that if you feel a player truly deserves to be reported, that you do so. Don't feel pressured in to doing something by your team mates asking you to report a player. It's all recorded and all counts.

This is just one example of he MANY times riot has said asking for reports is ban able

Well you can get banned over something like this. But if this is a one time thing for the Yas he probably won't.

Why do people assume that the system isn't working just because every single person they report isn't instantly punished?

Well, what was your score? Did you deserve it?
