@Blues or Reds, Do AFK system detect people who dont afk long enough

For the leaverbuster warning to pop? last few weeks ive came across a few people who will afk in base but not long enough to pop the warning. Is their acct being flagged or is it a said method to get away with trolling?

Because i dont know if the afk reporting actually does anything? Has anyone been banned for afking yet?

And why are LPQ people allowed to play ranked? or people whos accts been flagged with leaving a lot

I'm not 100% on the backend of how the AFK detection system works, but I know that has been a growing concern and there are ways of detecting AFK players without necessarily needing the LeaverBuster warning to appear.

I cannot site you specific examples since I don't have access to that data, but I know people that were suspended for frequent AFKs.

The system does still pick up things like running in circles, spamming emotes, and other actions meant to avoid an autoDC.

As far as doing "nothing" there have been plenty of bans for afk's. There's fewer outright bans since they implemented LPQ, but that's partly because they can throttle players' time in game without those players dodging the punishment by smurfing. And since they aren't going straight to suspensions and bans, they're able to make the system more sensitive than before, so it picks them up faster than the old system.

The system is actually very good at recognizing when a player takes no action for a long duration of time. It's hilariously bad a detecting players who take little action for long periods or bursts of action interspersed with activity droughts. It's very easy to avoid being leaver bustered, as long as one is still connected to the match, by running around the base not doing much but placing wards and taking an occasional jungle camp. In essence, it's good at catching players who frequently dc, but very bad about catching players who simply lose interest and throw games by avoiding playing in a typical manner. If ya dance party at baron all game, it's got you. If you place a ward every minute in your base and take a raptor or two everytime they come up it's liable to miss you.
