How can you, Riot team, feel empowered as though you've achieved some great service? How can you believe that what you've done is worthwhile? If you truly believe that punishing players by these standards—a faulty version of a republic dare it even be compared to that alone... To wait 20 minutes in Low Priority Queue based on 4 peoples opinion (you know how it go) then to miss the queue pop and have to wait another 20 minutes? Ridiculous! Riot Team, you are congruent to a Big Brother government that conspiracy theorists get so hot about. Using whatever tools you can to have as much control over people as you can. Shame on you.

What? How is this related to 4 peoples' opinions? You get LeaverBuster penalties from leaving or AFKing .. not from peoples' opinions.

You also have to leave A LOT of games to get a 20 minute penalty. First it is a warning, then you must show a history of leaving, then you get a 5 minute warning, then you have to leave some more for a 10 minute penalty, then you have to leave even more for a 20 minute penalty. I'm exhausted from typing how many times you have to have left.

Well, yeah .. How would it be a penalty if you could just go watch tv for 20 minutes and then queue for a game? How would it be a penalty if you didn't feel it?

Excellent question. Lyte's summoner 11 's used to be one of my favorite parts of the boards.
This inevitably makes me part of the tiny minority that was sad to see him go. I really appreciate Tantram and what he and his teammates are doing, but with respect to the departed as well as Tantram, I think he should have his own thing!

Tbh i never got a 10 min penalty. I got afk in 1 game (the game crashed over and over) then 1 day after that my pc restarted right at the loading screen and my team remake. Then when i tried to play a game after that BAM the 20min queue kicks in so no, i dont think you need to be afk in ALOT of games to get this.

Do you feel that the low priority que punishment is adequate, given the fact that it never advances to anything past 5 low priority que games? I think it was much more effective when it actually banned people.

I left one game and went to a 20 minute leaver buster immediately. I deserved it 100% because it was a ranked game, but I just found it odd that it scales from 5 to 10 then 20, but I received a 20 minute one without the others. I was just wondering what happened in my case, if you can shed some light.

People reporting you has nothing to do with LPQ: the only way to get into LPQ is to consistently leave/afk in games.

No ones expecting you to stare at the computer screen for 20 minutes waiting to enter (if you do so then that's your choice not Riots), but you are expected to at least pay attention and check in every now and then to make sure that you don't miss your chance to enter champ select.

They put in a 10 minute now? When I got busted it took only one more afk game to go from 5 to 20.

When I spent time on Leavebuster I found that the 20 minute wait time caused more bad habits to form:

Making tea while in Q

Cooking while in Q

Doing Laundry while in Q

Going to get food while in Q

Ordering Pizza in Q

Sometimes these activities would spill over into the game out of necessity.

But leavebuster did push me into reforming. Not because of the penalty though; if anything the penalty was too high and encouraged the bad habits above because let's face it: Nobody is willing to just sit around for 20 minutes. (Although I did sit around, annoyed, for 5)

Leavebuster pushed me into reforming because that waiting time forced me to ask the following question, and later on I wondered why I'd never thought about this before:

Do I have time to play a 50 minute game all the way through?

The point is, the overall design of Leavebuster is one of the best things that has happened to ranked games.

You are a liar. It doesn't give you a 10 minute penalty and it doesn't take that many games to get the leaver buster penalty. The system is trash. I got a penalty for it disconnecting in my game and reconnecting. I wasn't even out of the game for 10 seconds. Disconnecting for a few seconds counts towards your penalty and your dumb system isn't doing anything to help anyone.

Yes it was. There isn't a 10 minute penalty. It goes straight to 20 from 5. I got the 5 from a disconnect that they remade then later that day a 20 from a dc that wasn't even for 10 secs.

exept for the fact that my client crashed midway through a game aneven though i waited through a very long loading screen at low 40s ping and managed to get back in game and win BOOM still 5 games with 20 minutes. why punish me for a bug in the client. seems extremely unfair

I had my league client crash and taking forever to load in ONE time after being off for 3 or 4 months and I've been stuck on low priority queue since then. I think I've got through 3 or 4 games now with this bs queue. I never leave a game and that was my first game in a while bc I was moving and didnt have a comp. I find one time being afk for 10 min with an immediate leavebuster is bull.

Well, you've played through 16 leaver bustered penalized games, and still have 2 remaining. So, you've not only been leaver busted 3 times, but you left a game while you were still playing through all of your leaver buster penalties.

So it seems like there's a pretty precise system to it, I just started league about a week ago. Now I've got a the 10 minute low priority, and it's well deserved. I'm just wondering if there's a "rewards" program for "good" behavior. Per example, if I stay in matches without leaving or afk behavior, do I ever go back to the 5 minute low priority, or is it a one-way-street? Or have I passed the point of no return?

no bonuses for being good. It's 5 am here and my net just reset. took 2-3 mins. game ended while i was dc'd. i haven't played league for a while and as i got my net back up, bam 20 minute low priority que. And that's with having the game listed as defeat not leaver/remake/etc. Since any negative restrictions on my account I've gotten honored, only up to level 4, but i don't play as much as i would like these days. being honorable, doing what you're supposed to, doesn't benefit you as far as their punishment systems go. I had one account get 14 day ban from a days worth of troll players in flex reporting w/ their premades. Chat restriction bans are even more silly, as generally it only accounts for chat, and not how heavily you may have been trolled in the game. And being on the naughty list from chat bans starts the train for suspensions. Again, most of which was because of what you typed, and not what happened during the game play experience that prompted anything to begin with. Across my many accounts over the years, it feels more like Riots attempts to put out the fire has only caused the flames to engulf the community into a toxic pit.The system is horrifically flawed in many ways that has come to ruin more players experience than help. So many people have found ways to troll others, and they are now using Riots own system against them. Hard to believe how far off the community has gone, and how silly the response from Riot has become. Anywho, guess i'll hop on another alt. Oh wait, it's been 20 minutes hooray.

Fun side note: there's a secret que system for ppl who have been flagged in negative ways, once on it you're there forever

Bullshit, I left one game after getting trolled over and over by premades. Its easily been over a year since I either DC'd or exited from a game. I do it once, and i got put in low priority queue. meanwhile trolls get to ruin games without consequence.

I've been hit by leavebuster very unfairly a few times, mostly for leaving during champ select, and by leaving I mean having the 'ban' button greyed out so I couldn't do anything about it. I shouldn't have to waste 5 extra minutes of my life because of a broken client.

So here is the problem that I have with this system. My buddy and I haven't played in a while, and honestly we have afked a few times before. He Afked one time after a year of not playing and we played a few games before hand.

Our Afk before was connection issues and in no way was it something intentional, this time I don't know what happened to him haha.

Anyhow, we were waiting for 20 minutes so we could play this time after the him getting it the first afk within a year, and we hit the 20 minutes mark. I accidentally hit the back button, and we had to restart the whole process again.

So basically what I am saying is that, we are being punished for something that happened a while ago, very very few afks within the past two years and the "CODING" doesn't give a shit. So we are fucked and I barely ever have time to ever fucking play. Now I waited 40 fucking minutes to play a game that I haven't played in a long time.

Stupid ass coding, and I would love for you to explain that too me..

Now, I will say I have my fair share of going afk. With that said, 85% of my leaves are because I had a random internet failure or my pc decided to wack out on me, with that being said...RIOT please find a way around this, it's not everyone's fault, I've been in low priority que almost since I started league let along I've been banned for two weeks multiple times for in game comments that I didn't make but someone else did and reported me for it...your system is fucked, your workers seem to be fucked and the way things run are fucked...I still love your game & think it's one of the best competitive games in the world as of right now but if this isn't fixed I can promise my friends & me will not touch Riot Games.

If riot wasn't so fucking lazy and only concerned about making skins to soak up money from their dwindling player base they would implement a pause button into their game like almost every other competitive multiplayer game has. That and voice chat. Implement a pause button and you can get rid of 90% of people who make the excuse that they had a small thing break etc.
