You know what really ruins the boards?

AllahbamaBlckSnk·11/17/2016, 6:20:33 AM·8 votes·1,833 views

Almost a year ago I made a thread, describing in great detail the corruption and circlejerk that this board has created. I received 8+upvotes, but when the sleeping giant known as /misc and /pbm awoke, I was downvoted to oblivion until my thread was removed and I received a year ban.

Nothing has changed, apperently. So Im gonna voice my opinion/ fact again, just so you fuckers can see.

Have you noticed a trend with gameplay? How most posts get to the top? Its by reposting. Reposting a popular thread that was upvoted sky high, and reposting it again and again until you finally lose focus. Remember when you guys flipped about the new hud? 3 solid weeks of bitching, the same thread over and over and over again. Eventually, new threads were made about the tank meta and GP and things that followed. The hud was never changed back.

This is because people are karma farming. Notice the past few weeks? Vayne thread over vayne thread over... You get the point. Vayne has always been this way, even before the damage floor was made. She always fucked mundo, always fucked nasus, always fucked garen, always fucked everyone. Vayne has been bending people over since season 3 like its jared from subway in a preschool. This is nothing new, but you know why people are bitching NOW? because a thread got 100+ upvotes and peoples eyes lit the fuck up.

I have an even better fucking example. The entire second hafl of season 5. You would ALWAYS see thread bitching about how steraks is literally hitler, deadmans is too fucking overpowered, and black cleaver was the reincarnation of the devil himself. "Darius needs a nerf and heres xyz reason thats been posted 100 times already" "Anyone else think black cleaver gives too much for its cost?"

YES MOTHERFUCKER YOUVE POSTED IT 20 TIMES ALREADY

PB&M

Ive never seen such sick and twisted bullshit. I have NEVER seen such nasty people. If you searched up "lock em up and throw away the key" you would see PB&M right smack dab there.

People have been witchhunted, like the one guy who talked shit to that girl with cancer. Anyone remember that? Story time. So this girl with cancer came onto the boards crying about how some guy had talked shit and hoped she died of cancer. She proceeded to make the big mistake of saying she actually has cancer (what the fuck you are on the internet, why give info like this to someone talking shit?) and the guy proceeded to be a dickhead and talk shit.

Well, after a giant pitchfork sale that would make a witchhunt in ohio 1700 look like fucking preschool baby time, the guy was perm banned without any prior punishments. This is so fucked. Yes, hes a dickhead, but he was essentially fucked and screwed out of his 3 prior chances because the boards felt that he was some kind of SS waffen nazi that had just burned down an entire litter of newborn kittens.

Theres so many things wrong with this. The entirety of the boards feels that its THEIR fault because you didnt have the fucking brain to mute them. If someones talking shit and you dont mute them, you are literally allowing hate to be fucking spewed in your direction. You cant possibly play the victim card after allowing communication to take place.

Its ALWAYS the toxic persons fault. No, fuck chances, they should be shunned and fucked and screwed without a second chance because we the community want to be judge jury&executioner.

Im ready for downvotes, Im dead serious, please show me that Im right because the same shit happened a year ago that will happen now. You know its how you act, but you are too fucking rotten to see your own shit.

Having been a part of this community since it launched, I'll give my opinion.

In the history of PB&M, I've found that regulars are quick to pick up on Riot's behavior policies and inform those that are legitimately confused. If someone really doesn't understand why they were banned, I've seen this community to be quick to help them understand.

On the other hand, there are a lot of people that post here with some of the worst attitudes I've seen, but it's usually not commenters, it's the thread starters. A lot of logs here are very clearly negative, slurs thrown around, threats to afk, you name it. If the poster took one objective look at their chat log, they would understand. They're posting here to either troll or to beg for their account back, but after that kind of behavior, it's not going to happen.

I've not heard of one instance where someone's account was permanently banned from the game for what they said on the boards. Granted, that could probably happen with everyone's favorite Draven one-trick, but he is a special exception. I don't think he posts here anyway.

If someones talking shit and you dont mute them, you are literally allowing hate to be fucking spewed in your direction. You cant possibly play the victim card after allowing communication to take place.

You realize this is victim-blaming, right? This is like going up to a rape victim and saying "oh well you shouldn't be wearing such short shorts." People have a right to play this game and not feel harassed. People should not have to use the mute button just to get a decent gameplay experience. People should not have to put up with being called slurs for accidentally taking a kill or hitting one too many minions.

A streamer I follow named Destiny put it very well. He said that everyone sees life through a different paradigm and for a lot of people, it's hard to understand that their paradigm is not what others see all the time. Being part of the LGBT community, I grew up being called all sorts of nasty slurs just for who I was. Certain 6-letter words mean different things to me than they might to you. You think I should have to put up with it because there's a mute button? Or do you think we could reasonably put the expectation on all players to be decent to one another?

Its ALWAYS the toxic persons fault. No, fuck chances, they should be shunned and fucked and screwed without a second chance because we the community want to be judge jury&executioner.

We don't want to be judge, jury, and executioner. That's a lot of responsibility. We want a decent gameplay experience. Yes, if you shit talk your teammates in chat, it is your fault. I don't see how that's even a question here. Anything you say is your responsibility, nobody else gets to take the blame for your behavior.

If you want to be treated like a reasonable person, start acting like a reasonable person.

just so you fuckers can see.

Stopped caring right here.

Pretty sure clearly toxic people like you ruin it, but whatever.

Enjoy your downvote!

You go into great detail about witch-hunting, and that PB&M somehow endorses it. But you couldn't be further from the truth. The PB&M regulars are usually among the first few posters that tell an OP that name-and-shame is not allowed.

the entirety of the boards feels that its THEIR fault because you didnt have the fucking brain to mute them. If someones talking shit and you dont mute them, you are literally allowing hate to be fucking spewed in your direction. You cant possibly play the victim card after allowing communication to take place.

Let's be frank here, the person receiving the insults is not at fault for not muting. It's the fault of the person throwing the insults out. With communication being such an important feature of the game, misusing it is completely the fault of the asshole in chat. Because I have to mute their whiny ass means I'm no longer going to get any teamwork related chat from them when they're not being a child.

Have some damn self-control and show basic civility. It's completely within everyone's power to do so.

I actually loved the whole thing, and couldn't agree more with it. You look like a guy who isn't gonna sit back and ride Riots pipe like every other mentally impaired players on the rift.

Its ALWAYS the toxic persons fault. No, fuck chances, they should be shunned and fucked and screwed without a second chance because we the community want to be judge jury&executioner.

But I'd reword this^

Its ALWAYS the toxic persons fault.

And especially this ^

I understood it perfectly. But it should be revised for the other idiots who read it.

One thing to remember about the PB&M situation: No matter what the community does or says, Riot gets the last word.

And they have shown, over time, that they have no problem making the unpopular move. Did the community bring attention to a guy telling a victim of cancer that she should just hurry up and die from it? Yes, but Riot gets the last word on bans, not the community. And Riot, not the community, decided they didn't want that guy to be a part of it.

Other than that, I completely agree with you. The whole format of the forum, whether unintentionally or not, encourages vote farming. So you'll get plenty of people clamoring for those imaginary internet points. Just have to figure out how to sort through the shit, or just not be a part of it.

At the very least, it's worth remembering that the forums is a very small fraction of the entire community, so are rather irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

You are so, so, so, so unfortunately right. And because you are right, this post is useless. The outspoken are many, they are heard, and they make the rules. This community is fucked.

reddit format is a piece of crap for any serious discussion, literally it would be better if they copied 4chan, if they wanted a meme site, that format is much more convenient than what we have because it's a version of the ordinary forum but with easier picture attachments

it is barely tolerable if you set the chronological view and view boards by the most recent only

even then, after all these years, they still didn't add so, when you are in the chronological view, you could see the link to the parent post for each post in the thread, because people who use the meme discussion view don't care to quote, for them it is clear to what they answer, but for me it makes a discussion into a mess where it is not clear who speaks to who

reading a big thread in the discussion view is just a pure masochism

Drehirth11/17/2016, 8:42:42 PM1 votes

I agree with alot of what you said, pbm is alot of people being hypocrites calling somebody a shitty human being etc to make themselves feel better not all but alot of that...

Yea boards circle jerk ALOt and I like to call them out alot ( although when you do it in such a salty manner you discredit yourself really) I consider it a win when I point out Something stupid and can only get silent downvoted because nobody can come up with a reason based on logic/facts on how you are wrong and at best will just give some emotional response and an insult. You should try threads like that if you want to actually change peoples minds because if you post in an emotional train wreck like you did here nobody will listen.

Also vayne is op just because ADCs take turns getting nerfed and a slight change in items/meta suddenly makes them too strong. Too many vayne counters nerfed + stealth changes? Op. Just the way it is and its her turn to be nerfed.

You know what really ruins the boards?

The draconian (leftist/feminist) moderation?

DemothHymside11/17/2016, 3:05:58 PM1 votes

I can't help but laugh you have pity for telling someone, with cancer, that they hope their cancer kills them ASAP.

The only person who would say that HERE and expect to remain unscathed is a fucking idiot. There are consequences to actions, and clearly that eludes people.
