A Suggestion for Riot

Hey guys so I'm going to make this simple and be as straight forward as i can be here.

So recently I had two accounts that were permanently banned due to what RIOT percieved to be "toxic" behavior. I responded promptly by sending them a pretty nasty e mail because I was pretty pissed off that a game i had spent considerable time and resources on had just flipped me the bird.

This is not an apology thread. I talk sh*t in video games and that's just the way it is.

My proposal to Riot is simple.

Allow your users the freedom of speech by creating a "Big Boy Que" for 18+ users who can handle a little verbal sword play. In this que it is not an option to report other players for "bad behavior".

I would like to see the ban on my accounts and the accounts of others reversed so we can keep playing this game which I think most of us like a lot despite the childish politics of the company that runs it (into the ground).

I understand if I would be banned from ranked solo que for "toxicity". But being banned from creating my own games with my friends? being banned from creating ranked teams with people that I know in my personal life? Seriously?

FFS if you can't jive with this idea, why not permanent in game chat restrictions? wouldn't that allow us to play without hurting anybody's "feelings".

Bless up -The Nuanderthal

I don't think they're going to create an entire queue for people to insult each other, that doesn't seem reasonable. Maybe you should learn to manage your anger more effectively.

Allow your users the freedom of speech by creating

Freedom of Speech is protection from government persecution. It does not protect you from the consequences of your words in the private or public sector.

Riot is not the government and as such you are not protected from the consequences to your words.

why not permanent in game chat restrictions?

They tried that. It resulted in people trolling via gameplay.

IE: "I can't chat?! Fine. I feed every game 24/7 yolo!"

There is a major difference between trash talking and harassing. You are clearly on the "harassing" side. Maybe instead of Riot making a "big boy queue" you should grow up and learn to respect other people instead of insulting them.

There a difference between trash talk and just straight up verbal harassing someone and ruining their day/enjoyment of league.

What look like just trash talk to you might have a different effect on other people. Not everyone have "thick" skin. Your proposal is completely

nonsense because that would mean Riot encourage and/or tolerated toxicity which would stand against everything they have done so far.

Have fun creating another account, keep up the good work I guess.

My whole point is less serious than you think.

It's a game.

It's not the government.

RIOT should loosen up a bit.

Yes Big Boy Que would have lots of trolls, but then more incentive for people to behave themselves in a way RIOT see's fit right?

Just make a separate que where degenerates like me can play and have a little fun is all I'm asking xD

All the trash talking was towards your friends? That's a dumb reason to ban someone.

Nope.

I agree with what he is trying to put out there. People get heated in these type of games. So to make sure you're not hurting some 10 year old's feelings, make the "Big Boy Que" so its ok to get angry and say a few harsh words. This is competitive gaming, people say mean things when they get mad. Even someone with a high maturity level or self-control can get a little salty. don't punish them. we are all human (I hope) and we yell, throw stuff, cry, say mean things, and get angry.

And if i could add one thing.

Trash talk is pretty common in a lot of sports, and adds to the excitement of the sport.

Boxing for example.

Just don't overthink it too much but it's a free idea for ya RITO :D
