I got banned for this? Saying 8 messages in a game, 8, all that was, I am level 7, no previous accounts, no previous punishments, WHY am I being banned for this? I bet you are so glad you do not include the rest of the game chat because you'd see the context. IT WAS A JOKE. I would not have told them to kill themselves, a joke.. We even won that game, why would I be flaming? Seriously if this sticks I won't be happy. What has happened to Riot Games. Hard to believe anyone plays this game.

EDIT: I know I should not joke about this. A guy in game said if you say kys you get a 14-day ban no warning. It sounded too ridiculous to be true. Seriously. Why.

While you might not think of 'KYS' as something serious, alot people do. As such Riot also consider it very serious, even if meant in a joking manner.

Homophobia, sexism, racism, and encouraging self harm is all on a 0 tolerance policy and will easily net you a 14 day ban or even a permaban if you've been previously punished, or if considered appropriate by Riot.

You'll be allowed to play in 14 days. Riot has to make sure you understand exactly how seriously they take this.

Any explanation you make could just be written off as a lie. I'm not saying that you ARE lying, I don't think you meant it maliciously, but someone obviously got offended by it since you were reported.

I don't have access to the chat logs, but just from what I know, I would have decided to give you a 14-day ban aswell. There is no way to know if you are joking or not based on what you wrote. All one could say is that since you were reported and since you DID say the things you were reported for, a punishment was in order.

Because I thought that a game this popular would not have such ridiculous ban reasons. When someone told me in game that saying kys gets you instantly 14 day banned I assumed it was a joke because I thought there is no way a game this big bans players, especially new ones, for saying 3 letters. It is an absolute joke. If I was serious sure, ban me, but not for joking around.

I don't think it should need a slap on the wrist warning to tell you that encouraging someone to end their life over a videogame is unacceptable.

Nobody cares whether you claim you were joking or not because nobody knows whether you're telling the truth other not. All your teammates saw was you telling someone to kill themselves.

You may have been joking, but your jokes are indistinguishable from the statements made by malicious harassers. League has a bad reputation for toxic players, so the chat system is STRONGLY policed for hate speech and calls for suicide.

Also, yeah, I don't think I believe you regarding this being your first account. Other than your barrage of "kys", you speak like somebody that's been around this game a bit. Calling somebody an "SKT fanboy" wouldn't occur to somebody that's new to League, and "cs" isn't an in-game term and would have been learned through the community. Also, I assume your assertion of "youmean 7 day / not 14" is in response to the guy who EXPLICITLY WARNED YOU WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, demonstrating prior knowledge, though incorrect, of the punishment system.

I do not care if you were joking or not. I would have reported you as well, you said "kill yourself" multiple times. This isn't funny, this isn't a joke. You have no idea who you are talking to, you have no idea if your teammates are a kid who is already thinking about killing themselves, you have no idea anything about anyone but yourself.

Not only that but people can tilt VERY easily, simply saying kys once is enough to completely ruins someones game. You are lucky the chat restriction is only 14 days.

yes, because the new player experience is the most critical for any games financial future, enforcing stricter with low levels should be common practice as to keep as much from the non toxic noobs as possible, even if people like you who was "joking" get banned, because you are affecting the playerbase with the most profit potential. as someone who has lost a family member to suicide, its not something i can really feel comfortable around even as a joke.
