Whole NB3 situation made me stop playing until issue is addressed

I main AP Cho top lane. I have over 80% win rate but I still get reported every game we lose. I do not feed or go afk but my team gets pissed that I am not going with the meta (full tank). I always assumed riot will not follow on with bans because as they said, not following the meta is not bannable. Following NB3 and having insider employees banning players leaves a bad taste. I have been playing league for 4 years, never been banned before, but following these events, it looks like we are forced to follow the meta or even worse, dare to say no to a streamer otherwise he would ban our account. This is not acceptable. I am taking a break from league until this issue is addressed! I call out for every player that plays off meta champs to voice their opinion and show riot that we will act if they won't stop this corruption.

I love playing off meta, so here's my opinion: I agree with Riot's decision. Reason being that this is just like all those other bans that were supposedly for playing off-meta. Every single time people take it out of context, deny that Riot's official reason is true and predict that soon everybody will have to conform to the meta or be banned.

And then nothing happens. People forget it happened, continue to play off-meta and remain unpunished. Until in a couple of months another case gets blown out of proportion and the cycle repeats.

As long as you're playing with the intent to win, then you should be fine. Nothing you've stated in your playstyle sounds problematic in terms of what's punishable.

2 Rioters have addressed this issue on Reddit:

Wookiecookie stated that this player had been looked at previously, and he was not punished. However, they reevaluated this player and found this same behavior was occurring in popular streamers' games.

Riot Zephyr also addressed why there was that discord image with them messaging an "NB3" player. While I personally don't know if that image is real, it appears to be, based off of the response she had given. In it, she addressed that there is a route for streamers to use when reporting problematic behavior, why this route was made, and also that the standards for evaluating reports are the same.

And maybe the fact that nothing comes from this, and you are free to play AP Cho, maybe you would take that to be a sign that is not at all what this is about and that you should actually look into things instead of joining in the chorus just like they all did when the Rengar Top was banned for "just playing off-meta".

Keep on playing, you can’t get banned for it.

Nubrac was almost griefing.

Just make sure Rito is not licking any of your teammate's ass.

Sounds like off-meta is only trolling, when the player who reports you has a friend at Rito.
