Low Priority Queue timer reduction?

Hi all, curious if anyone knows what it takes to get back into 10 and 5 minute LPQs (time? Games played? Etc?) as I’m suffering the sins of my past at the moment.

When my son was younger (1-1.5 years ago,) he would wake up frequently in the night. Being a frequent League player, I of course ran afoul of Leaverbuster and eventually got placed into 20 min queue. I won’t deny that I deserved it, because I selfishly put my own want to play one of my favourite games over the reality that as a new parent, I didn’t really get that luxury.

I cost lots of people lots of games and I served my time in LPQ for that. Eventually, I took an extended break from League for the plain reason that I didn’t want to continue that cycle, and only recently returned.

In present day, I just got done briefly revisiting this situation when my son awoke in the middle of the night sick. I did what I had to and left the match. I’m now back in 20 minute LPQ, which I intend to serve out because technically the situation in this case is unchanged, and so the punishment fits.

However, I am very curious as to what it takes to get out of 20 minute queue and back into the 10 and 5 minute queues, as I was gone a long time and I figured the severity would have decayed (not based in any evidence, just wishful thinking I suppose.) Honestly I’m just grasping for answers since I’m super bummed to be back in a situation that requires me to wait so long to get back to the game I love, and I’d like to earn my way back into the good graces of the Leaverbuster gods and don’t know if that’s possible.

TL;DR: Is there any way to earn my way back into Low Priority Queue with less wait time?

I think they say just not playing dont help u u have to play alot and show that u dont afk anymore over a loooong period of games so stop afking or dont play if u know u have to afk or may have to just dont que up if u think there may be something to cause u to afk

Chat / gameplay / leaver meters do not go down with time. The ONLY way you will be able to get your leaver meter to go down is to demonstrate to the LeaveBuster gods that you are able to play games without afk is by playing games where you don't go afk. For every game you played that you do not go afk in, I'd imagine the LB meter will go down bit by bit until the system acknowledge that you are in good standing. Taking extended break from the game do not demonstrate this willingness or ability to play games without afk-ing.

It's entirely based on the number of games you play on the account that are considered "clean." Games where you do not leave, or afk, for any reason. No one can give you any set number, but a ballpark could possibly be something like 1-3 months worth of consistent games, with no leaves/afks, to drop down. Given how many times you've hit the 20 minute LPQ, it may take longer. I'm not 100% certain. I just know that it does go down over time.

Thanks for the insight guys, I appreciate the feedback! A little clarity comes as a great relief, and knowing that I can dig out of such poor standing is very reassuring in case some unexpected issue comes up again in the future.
