Attention: Yet another ban post I know I know very original

Hi my name's Lee and here's my story

Yes I know there are tons of these posts about players and their bans, mine is no different, while I feel I shouldn't be ban for this, this isn't a post seeking justification or for others opinions or asking to have my account unban it's only for two weeks and I live a busy, productive and positive life so it's all good. Plus I already did a ticket for it and in typical riot arrogance it was denied. The point of this post is to share my opinion, vent a little cause it is is annoying not angry just find it silly and laughable, possibly give people a laugh even if its at me and to give people something to discuss even though I won't be coming back to this post others can feel free to discuss it, I don't really post on the forums as can be seen from my posting history.

To get a few things out of the way before the reply's start and answer any reply's that would be redundant, I have been here since season 1 and have not had a ban ever till this season, yes I know how the ban system works it doesn't matter the severity of what you say the ban order is 10 game chat ban 25 game chat ban 2 weeks then perma. Yes I have had the 10 game chat ban and the 25 game chat ban, though this sounds like a history of toxicity if you played with me or knew me you would know that isn't the case, my previous bans were due to frustration over trolls (legit trolls not someone having a bad game, I mean like people calling out our positions in all chat or inting under towers taking smite when they are not the jungler and stealing my jungle camps so on and so forth) but I understand this does not justify being rude to a troll >_> no I never said kys or wished anything bad on them (they are people too after all and I don't want anything bad or death to happen to anyone) I would say things like are you freaking kidding me! please stop feeding, why do you want to lose? "you're bad" yes I'm sure I likely said something worse than those things but it was never bodily harm or cussing at people I don't like that, this is just my word and I understand if you don't believe me. I now know riot deems these things as toxic and makes the game unpleasant for the trolls so I know not to say things like that anymore that might offend or upset a troll or someone verbally abusing me. Honestly those times I also felt riots system was getting too strict but I can admit they were more negative than this one.

For those wanting to tell me how much I suck at this game yes I know I suck this season you're right (hands you a cookie and a gold star for being best at pointing out the obvious) and I'm ok with that it's just a game, I did well in past seasons but for some reason I just suck this season, I can't solo carry like I used to and I can't seem to get adjusted to all these changes with the runes and all the reworks, I agree with other veteran players that a lot of these changes have made it harder for veteran players however I don't think that is a good excuse a lot of veteran players adapted and are doing great I am trying to learn to adapt to all the new changes too anyway so yes for now I suck.

For those that are glad I am ban and think I deserve it, I have no ill will towards you and respect your opinion and I hope my punishment makes you happy maybe you feel like yes another one of those toxic jerks got what was coming to them, I understand the feeling feels good when you get flamed by someone and that ban message comes up that they got ban, but honestly I wasn't flaming and I don't feel like I was that bad this one game or deserved it so we will have to agree to disagree since I'm not here to convince you of my innocence and won't be convinced of my guilt over this one game and yes this is the only game in my reform card, yes I'm sure if a rioter dug around in other games they would likely find something else that is considered ban worthy these days but this reform card only addresses this one game so that is the subject of the topic. Yes i'm sure there are a lot of problems in my grammar as well but I'm tired honestly don't feel like putting a lot of effort in to perfect grammar.

In my opinion as someone who has played this game since the very first season and never had a ban till this season, the game seems to be becoming a safe space for people who seem to be on the more sensitive and emotionally unstable side, it feels like a SJW is running the ban system which in my opinion is bad, life is full of ups and downs and you're going to hear things you don't like, but part of being a mentally and emotional strong person is being able to hear those things and react to them properly. So having an online game where it has a competitive nature and anytime someone offends you, you report them and they get ban doesn't really do much for your community, if it was really helping you would see less toxic players not less player accounts. if you poke a snake and it bites you you can't get mad at the snake. The truth in my opinion is that riot is putting a bandage on a sun burn. They are not tackling the real problem with the game. Let's be honest everyone likes to win and when they don't it can be irritating, string enough of those together and you get players who are upset but not unmanageable, the real problem is that your performance is often linked to your teams, whether you do better or worse than them. That plus you are held hostage for 20+ minutes by your team who may be trolling you or flaming you is bound to put a lot of people in a bad mood that carries on to their next game add on top of that that they might get punished for a few slip ups of the tongue (or in this case fingers) and now you are punished because a troll or toxic player got you riled up and now you have a person who is going to be more not less toxic (think of the saying you catch more flys with honey than vinegar) even more add to that you may be playing against a plat+ smurf who destroys you and makes your team rage you and you are bound to have a lot of toxic players.

anyway we can complain all we want about the system but it's pointless without some suggestions so here are my suggestions to limiting toxic players.

1. rework your automated banning system, ease up on the chat bans let people vent and speak their mind you'll find that it will help ease their toxicity, being censored causes a lot of toxicity and it builds up, if anyone doesn't want to hear it you put a mute button in the game let them use that, it's redundant to have a mute and ban people for typing, if you are going to be that sensitive to people speaking their mind then you might as well take the chat system out all together I know you want people to use it to work together and in theory that's nice but in practicality that is not what it is used for, for the majority of the time, most of the time (I'm not saying all) either they don't use it or use it to flame plus typing is a less effective way to communicate than voice, that's why so many people use discord, twitch etc for communicating, I get that you put a voice option in the game but again it's only for premades so kind of a fail there. And if you absolutely must have bans for players being toxic just give them 2 game chat bans every time they are found to be toxic in chat, for toxic players it will keep them out of chat for non toxic players who slip up they don't feel like they are so censored and punished all the time, and they won't lose their account over words only actions.

2. Focus far more heavily on banning players who intentionally troll in some form or fashion not players having a bad game (taking smite and stealing camps when they arn't the jungler, intentionally trying to lose the game, intentionally feeding, calling out positions in all chat.) I can mute a toxic player but muting a troll doesn't make them troll less, doesn't give me back lost rank or my time. The common reply to this suggestion is well it's to hard to tell who is inting and who isn't, who is trolling and who isn't. This isn't true, other games have people who monitor the game with a large player base, riot has money to hire people to review game footage, so make a system where players can submit a game replay of players trolling, hire employees that can monitor those replays, you added a system where we can view our replays so let us submit them, if it's an issue of server space there are lots of companies you could partner with or allow links to places like drop box where people can submit it and it will be reviewed. riot I'm sure even you can find someone smart enough to be able to tell if someone is intentionally trying to throw the game in video replays.

3. Make the game individually merit based, let people rank up off of their own KDA, CS, damage given, damage taken, wards placed, heals, shields etc but add a bonus for the team win so that a team win gives more points to the climb maybe like a multiplier to all the other stats, so you could still climb while doing well even if your team mate feeds but that you would still have incentive to win as a team, that way players could still climb even with bad teammates but would still want to try for the team win every game. Take all those stats and let a player climb or fall based on that plus a player could feel better if maybe they were better at csing but not securing the kills, or maybe they liked having lots of kills but were not as good at csing, either way it would open up a lot more individual play style and yes you would need to be a good player all around to climb higher but if it was individually merit based good players would climb bad players would fall ( yes I know that is how it is now but like it or not your teams can drag you down or carry you from time to time, this makes it much more your responsibility to do well).

The argument I have heard here is well that wouldn't promote team work and would make teams fight with each other more or not care about team work all together......... that argument is bogus here's why. First have you played solo que, there is already a lack of team work so trust me it won't be any worse. Second people would try harder knowing that their rank is based on their performance and would blame others less (yes they would still blame but if it is individually merit based they would have to take responsibility for how they play), yes they would try to ks but they would also try to do better so they could climb and with people trying and not trolling as much or not just giving up cause screw it the teams would do better and if you did have that troll int feeder or whatever so what they are only tanking their performance not yours and yea you may not get the win multiplier that game but you get something that still helps you climb if you did well. You could assign point values to kills, deaths, cs and so on so it would be balanced (I know scary thought of trusting a riot balance team but I'm sure eventually they could get this right)

4. Limit accounts, tie them to phone numbers or some form of id so that you don't have smurfs, it's demoralizing, irritating, awful when you get destroyed by someone smurfing while you are trying to rank up then have your team verbally abuse you cause you got destroyed by a smurf and they are extremely common in all the elos I have played between bronze and diamond, and if you do what i said earlier and stop banning accounts and only give constant chat bans you're likely to have less smurfs stomping lower players which in turn will also cause less irritation.

But let's be honest riot will never do any of this because they are a very arrogant company who believes they can't do anything wrong and never reverse a choice plus with all the fan boys who back them up and throw cash at them why would they change.

the riot employee I talked to even told me that I wasn't hostile, mean or toxic, the riot employee also said I should mute them, when I informed him and referenced the reform card I included he refused to respond, when I told him that some of the things he thought I was saying was negative like telling shaco good job when he made a good play, I told him that was not my intent to which he told me intent doesn't matter only what you type. So keep in mind summoners be crystal clear and type your intent now in chat too so if someone misunderstands you you don't get ban. Also the person I was in discord chat with was in no form or fashion bothered with the chat and thought the ban was absurd too. anyway I know the fan boys are ready to rush to riots defense so have at me. I just ask one thing cause I still want to believe there is goodness in this community and support and those that don't believe riot makes no mistakes so I ask this be nice to each other on this thread have discussion but be kind you can flame me all you want but be nice to each other please, let's make this community better by not defending riots bad polices too.
