LoL is not the same

Hello. I have some thoughts i want to share, i am not really "in time" with todays league but i play from time to time.

I created a account back in 2012 or 2013 i think, i have for all life been playing sports games and never really gotten into PC games, but something with this game was special, the community was nice (even if there were some retards, like every game) but i learned to ignore these and had really fun. I even got crests of honor etc. I was behaving well.

But then, i had some problems in life and got on a tilt with league about one year ago. This ended with me getting a perma bann in january this year.

Since then for logical reasons i havent been playing LoL haha, but sometimes i take some games on a friends account. The thing i have realized there is that there is much less communications between players today than when i started to play. Less banter, but also less flame. And this was a big part of what got me into the game in first place. It was all knds off people. Funny, angry, ironical etc. Today i have a feeling people are just affraid of getting banned if they say something wrong.

My own bann was deserved, i am not saying anything else. I have grew up enough to realize that, i said some stupid sh*t. But this post is not about me, even if i am strongly against perma banns, i think there are better solutions. With perma banns you maybe bann some people who cant fix theyre behavior, but for the majority i think they can fix it, things in life affects you and people grow up.

But back to the point, for the 20-30 isch games ive played this year i have noticed much less, realy bout 50% less communication. And the all chatt is practicly dead. Majority of games i dont see any communication between the two teams (which again, i loved before).

What are youre thought who play LoL more reguraly today? Do you think the same or not?

Sorry for my bad english :)

I haven't felt that the community is afraid. There are definitely still plenty of folks who are 'happy' to flame and name-call, but also just as many who joke and chat it up together. I play nearly daily, and each match is different, but I wouldn't say that the more social aspect of the game is dead. I prolly talk too much tbh! Sooo... I'll blame all my poor plays on being too garrulous (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و

What I've seen happen over the past is not so much people are afraid to say anything, it's because the community has grown so much compared to when it first started.

Before the community was a lot smaller, so people would talk more and reach out to others to play. Eventually the community got so large that it's just another "online" game to play.

World of Warcraft is a huge example of this. As the game progressed and got more "casual" friendly to bring in more subscriptions, the community started to die down more as the numbers increased. Most of the time you don't need to talk to anyone in the game or even rely on a guild anymore. You can do everything solo so there's no reason to use the chat function or make friends in-game.

Same with league. There's no real reason to use the chat function anymore. You can communicate via pings, and you don't even have to call out your role anymore. It's all streamlined and simplified.

It's not exactly a bad phenomenon, but it does happen. Most people playing League nowadays would rather play with friends instead of making friends through the game, so that's less chat use and more ping use.

Hope that helps :)

I don't see what you're talking about in my games. I've been playing a lot for almost 4 years now. This doesn't really prove anything. :)

Let me clear things up>> riot person, you play with a whole different type of player than I do..... I'm currently unranked deciding if I even want to continue playing after just hitting level 30. I would say to you, there is a LOT of FEAR about even talking. I have grown shy of talking after being harassed and threatened with being reported because I didn't play the way they liked or what they liked. It's like everyone is either walking on eggshells, of just don't give an eff and are as rude as they wanna be. Some of you in riot need to create new accounts and try going from 1-30 and not be mentally scarred... seriously, what a let down after getting to 30, I can't even exchange thoughts without being concerned about the "ban-hammer" because of the automated report system. This game has/had potential.... it's being squandered to placate the snowflakes out there on the rift.
