Perhaps a reevaluation could be in order..

ALCON,

So, last night I am playing, as I normally am after work (I work second shift 3pm-11:30pm) and apparently, at least from what I can gather, AT&T decides to do networking maintenance; or maybe working to upgrade the network? It's hard to say for sure, but for whatever reason 3 different times the net went out for like 15-40 mins before I gave up for the night and just went to bed. Now, obviously as a paying customer of AT&T I am quite annoyed that after my day at work I come home to relax and play some league and low and behold AT&T decides to ruin my night.

What does this have to do with the price in China you ask... Well, I wake up in the morning to play and sure enough--Leaver Buster has set in. Now I think I had 2 games where I was DCd and didn't come back due to outages.. but the first time it was only down for like 10-15 mins...We had a lead in that game and when I came back in.. we actually won the game. The other 2 games however, I was unable to reconnect.

That means, I got trolled first by AT&T with their network outages.. which when I looked at the US outage map it was like every major city in the US.. Thanks for that AT&T. But I also got trolled by Riot Games' Leaver Buster System which apparently doesn't take in to account the amount of games I've played over the past 6 years and how it is a cold day in that hot region it never gets cold in before I surrender / leave a game as an upset individual. I'm the guy that never wants to surrender in a game--much to some people's dismay.

All that to say. I am a paying customer of both AT&T and Riot Games (as I've spent at least.. i don't know-what $700+ over the past 6 years on this game). A pretty big disappointment. I would truly like to see some reworks to the Leaver Buster System that takes account of all conditions of the account holder before handing out things that make your customers unhappy--especially when we are all at the mercy of our ISPs.

You continued playing despite known network issues. If I have network problems in one game, for any reason, I'll call it a night for League and move to something else, at least until I feel like my network connection is stable again (up with no issues for a good hour or so).

The people in the games with you don't care what the cause if your leave was. You left them at a significant disadvantage in those games. Sure, you were fortunate to reconnect to one and manage to finish it off. But you were DC'd from one game for a significant period of time. Then left 2 more games in a row right after. Had any of those single games occurred in isolation, you'd probably be safe from LeaverBuster since it tries to be forgiving for individual instances outside your control. But you left 3 games in a row...

Problems with specific ISPs happen from time to time, but in this case it appears to be just maintenance. Most of the time, it's people's modem/router that are the problems, and to Riot both essentially look the same.

If you sent out a questionnaire as to why you d/c that last game, I guarantee almost everyone would put down that they had "internet issues" when really it's just a rage quit etc.

It's not about how many games you've played over the past 6 years, its about how frequently you leave games in a short amount of time. I mean, it sucks, but I don't think you're going to get your ban lifted. If your account is in good standing, it should only be a 5 minute leaverbuster, play about 75 games (at least that's what it took for me) and you won't have a problem again.

Ok, I know we all want to burn the witch... I get it, we all hate rage quiters, leavers etc.. To call me a rage quiter is to buy into that toxic hatred you have for those players who are actually malicious. Trust me, I know your pain--they leave my games too!

My point is, the system, if we were to call it a good one, I believe, should incorporate all of your accounts linked to your e-mail and all of the games you've played in order to make a determination on if you are demonstrating consistent toxic behavior. If you are leaving less that 1 in 500 games or something rediculous, it shouldn't be acting out leaver buster on you.. especially if you've NEVER received any form of Bans, punishments before IN 6 YEARS OF PLAY!

Regardless of why you left the game, it had a negative impact on the experiences for the other nine people in the match.

stop using your "emergancy AFK tokens" on bad / toxic games.

3 DCs are not going to get you leaver bustered if you didn't leave or AFK in your previous games.
